The internal storage of that tablet (which I have never heard of before) is extremely tiny. You would need to delete any unused apps to free up space. I think that there are restrictions as to what can be saved to SD memory.
The default on most tablets is to install apps to internal storage so the SD card does no good by itself. You can go into Settings>Applications and change the location for each app to the SD card. Likewise anything else you put on a tablet, particularly photos and videos get stored in internal storage. If you have taken a lot of photos and videos they can fill up your storage quickly. You can change this in the Camera app by tapping the settings icon and changing the storage option to SD card. You will still need to actually move existing photos and videos to the SD card manually or copy them to external storage and delete them. I would also change the image and video resolution in Camera settings to 640x480. This is plenty good enough for pictures you just want to look at on the device or share online.
touch the "Settings" icon, go down to the "Device" area, touch the "Storage" icon : go to the bottom of the screen, and select "Transfer data to SD card", then select the items you want to move.
You should also move some apps from internal storage to the SD card : "Settings", "Device", and touch "Applications" : then touch each and every application : for most of them, the button "Move to SD card" will be active, just proceed.
Go to your settings. Then to your apps. When you click on the app, you will have the option move to your sd card. Do it. Do the same with your photos, videos and music files. That is what your Sd Card is for. Once this is done you will have plenty of space on your internal memory to download what you want.
If there are, in fact, apps already loaded in the machine, then you could try to delete them with the app manager (in settings). If you cannot run the machine at all because of this error message, contact your vender for return ASAP
Tablets have internal storage and external SD cards (optional) storage. Apps will download to the internal storage. So under Settings > Storage make sure you have space on your internal storage.
That system warning relates to available application space. For some reason Archos only devoted ~128 MB for applications, so you can fill that up pretty fast. You'll need to:
uninstall applications (settings, Applications, Manage Applications, then select and uninstall some)
or
move some applications to "internal storage", this transfers some of the space they're taking to the internal storage on your Archos. Again you'll go to Settings, Applications, then Manage Applications. From the list of applications select some of the larger ones and you may see a "move to internal storage" option. Some apps have this, some don't.
