The Closed Caption (CC) option (words displayed on television screen) came on my television on all channels and I can't turn it off. I was able to turn off CC through the settings menu but the analog CC is on and there is no option to turn off. The options displayed are: CC1, CC2, CC3... then Text 1, Text 2 etc. There is no off option.

If you didn't already check your TVs MENU for it's CC options and turn them off, Check there first possibly in the Audio Section. Second is check your Cable or DTV Box MENU to make sure that is turned off. With Cable you press the SETTINGS Button and on DTV you press MENU I believe.

For different languages I think cc1 is English. The rest have never worked for other languages for me.

That is odd to say the least---rarely any problem in that area---are you using a cable or sat box or have a receiver in line?
The set may have a hard reset (not the one in the menu) that would resolve this--a phone call to Toshiba would answer this?
I would if a box or receiver in line look there for a CC setting and also unplug those for a while and plug back to let them reboot.
If you call Toshiba and do not like the answer ask to speak not to a service rep but a technician.
