Try connecting it to an external monitor if possible.
You can use the VGA connector on your laptop to connect it to the Monitor.
restart the laptop and see if it comes up on the external monitor.
If it does show on the external monitor, It's probably the laptop screen going bad. and they ain't cheap. here's a link to a screen on Amazon, just to give you an idea...

If it still doesn't show, Hold down the function key and press the CRT/LCD button (Usually F8) to see if you can cycle between the external and the laptop monitor..
