Paper cassette not being detected as full

I install paper into the cassette and select the correct paper size but when the tray raises, the printer does not detect that it is in the up position and just keeps trying to raise the paper which causes the gears to click trying to raise the paper more even though it's already up. Help??

There is a limit switch that detects when the paper is up.Check it to see if it moves freely.

Testimonial: "The limit switched had a bent bracket preventing the roller assembly to raise up and set into the sensor..However, now that it does sense the paper, it detects a jam when the tray is empty. It does not sense paper out....What could be causing that problem??"

Ok, The Copystar CS-1820 is a Lemon, as an Authorized Independant dealer for Copystar. I can attest to this. This is a common problem from Copystar and their's not much that can be done. Unfornatel they should of stuck to the CS-1810 design they would of been better off/

HOW TO FIX ERROR CODE 094-534

Make Sure the Paper Trays Are Configured With the Correct Paper Size, Type, and Color

To configure settings for Paper Trays 1 and 2
  1. Open the paper tray.
  2. Make sure that the required paper stock is loaded in the paper tray, and that the paper edge guides are adjusted properly to fit the size of the paper.
  3. Close the paper tray. The Printer Settings screen will be displayed on the Touch Screen.
  4. Select [Size], and then select the size of paper loaded in the tray. If this is a standard size paper, the correct size will be selected automatically if the paper guides are adjusted correctly. If necessary, select [Custom] to enter the paper size if the required size is not displayed and then enter the required X and Y values.
  5. Select [Save].
  6. Select [Type], and then select the type of paper loaded in the tray.
  7. Select [Color], and then select the color of paper loaded in the tray.
  8. Select [Confirm].

Red light flashes, screen says "load correct paper: A4." The paper is alreay loaded. I cannot print.

When <LOAD CORRECT PAPER> appears on the display, the size of the paper in the paper cassette or multipurpose tray is different from that of the paper specified in <PAPER SIZE> for <CASSETTE> or <MP TRAY>. You need to load the correct size paper or change the paper size in <PAPER SIZE> for <CASSETTE> or <MP TRAY>.
Check if the size of paper loaded in the paper cassette or multi-purpose tray meets the paper setting specified in the machine.

check the following:
1. The paper size specified on the printer driver screen
2. Paper loaded in the machine
3. The paper size set in <PAPER SIZE> for <CASSETTE> or <MP TRAY>

41.3 unexpected size in tray 2.my printer is hp laserjet 4200.can you solve this

Thank you for contacting FixYa with your printer Inquiry.
41.3 Unexpected Paper Size Explanation
  • The printer detected a paper size different than what it was expecting.
  • This is typically caused if two or more sheets stick together in the printer, or if the paper tray is not properly adjusted.
Recommended action
  1. Reload the tray with the correct paper size.
  2. Ensure that paper in the tray is loaded under the front and back tabs.
  3. When printing from tray 1, verify that the correct paper size is selected in the control panel (see the Paper Handling Menu section in the User Guide ).
  4. When printing from tray 2, 3, or 4, verify that the three paper size adjustments on the paper tray have been made correctly (see the description of adjustments in the section on Loading Trays 2, 3, and 4 in the User Guide ).
  5. After performing the actions above, press GO. The page containing the error will automatically be reprinted if jam recovery is enabled. Or, press CANCEL JOB to clear the print job from the printer's memory.

How do I have printer switch from empty paper tray 1 to the full 550 paper tray 2

Hi. You need to do tray linking. When one linked tray is empty, paper feeds from the next linked tray. The size and type settings for all trays must be set from the Paper Menu. To set the paper type or size:
1. On the home screen, touch Menu button
2. Touch Paper Menu
3. Touch Paper Size/Type.
Note: To link the multipurpose feeder, Configure MP must be set to Cassette in order for MP Feeder Size or MP
Feeder Type to appear as a menu item.
4. Touch the right or left arrows to select the same size paper from all paper sources to be linked.
5. Touch the right or left arrows to select the same type paper from all paper sources to be linked.
Note: When the Size and Type settings are the same for any trays, the trays are automatically linked.
6. Touch Submit.
Submitting changes appears.
7. Touch Home to return to the home screen.
Hope this helps.

I cant find my manual how to i place the paper underneath so it feeds through the bottom

You can use the paper cassette located at the bottom of the printer, on the front when the output paper tray is closed concealing the paper feed switch, the usb port and the cassette lamp.
1 Gently pull out the cassette from the printer.
2. Remove the cover from the cassette.
3. Place your paper in the cassette tray.
a. when using A5 or larger sized paper (non standard sized paper, pinch the tab and extend the cassette if needed.
b. legal sized paper is not loadable in the cassette
4. Do not load paper above the load limit mar4k.
5. Make sure the print side of the paper is facing down.
6. Align the paper stack against the right side of the cassette
7. Slide the paper guides so they fit the loaded paper stack.
8. The paper cassette will hold up to 150 sheets of plain paper, however you do not eant to stack any more than 50 sheets in the Paper Output Tray.
9. Reinsert the cassette into the printer. Then set the cover on the cassette. Now make sure the cassette is pushed al the way into the printer. (If long paper was used and the cassette was extended iy will now extend beyond the front of the printer
10. Prepare the paper output tray by opening the front cover and pulling out the tray extension until extended completely.
11. Press the paper feed switch so the cassette lamp lights.

You can slo select the paper source with the printer driver if you prefer .

Im having canon ir400 copier.in first cassete im using A4 size paper.it was wrking fine.Suddenly m/c doesnt detecting the first tray.ITS SHOWING '' LOAD PAPER''.even i've loaded a paper...

First I would pull the paper tray out and look for a wade of paper jamed behind the paper tray or jamed in the paper path above the cassette. Another problem could be that the tray is not lifting. If you take the second tray out and reinstall the first tray can you look under the tray and see it raise up or does it make a noise and not lift. It could be the rachet gear is broken that lifts the paper up. These are just a few ideas.. Good Luck

Paper Cassette (Tray 2), which serves as a paper guide for
the Lower Cassette, is not installed. Install (reseat) the

Message keeps paper tray is full and it is full.

pull cassette out and look inside the cassette bay on the left side. there is a white gear that lifts up your paper. that might have come unseated. make sure its seated in right by pushing it back in. last but not least, make sure you don't have your rear paper stopper in cassette pushing paper too hard against the front of cassette preventing paper from raising up.
