Vertical lines on the copy usually indicate a dirty drum or Corona wire. The Corona wire should be cleaned each time you replace the toner cartridge. This is done by moving the Corona tab back and forth across the wire several times to clear it of debris. You may also want to check the drum for debris. Holding the copied page to where it feeds out and lining up the line or mark on the page will give you an idea as to where the dirt may be. Best of luck with your printing issue. Greg
You manually rotated the aluminum drum? Since you did that, I would suspect you have the print head wiper blade stuck between the drum and print head. The code you are getting it caused by the print head not being able to move freely. The jamming is probably due to a bad registration clutch. Common failure on that machine. You can go to Xerox.com, there is under documentation and drivers a parts list for that machine. You can reference the wiper blade and get the clutch part number there. Let me know what other information you may need. I will be glad to help you get it running again.
Does it only happen when you copy through the auto feeder or from the contact glass too? If it's just from the feeder, then the rollers in the feeder are slipping and not feeding the paper straight, and need to be cleaned/replaced. If it happens from the contact glass, then it is most likely the rollers that move the paper through the machine that need cleaning - primarily the registration roller, but really all rollers from the paper tray to the exit should probably be serviced, and/or replaced where necessary.
Yeah it should make contact with the drum, but it moved up and down to make and break contact with a clutch.
What I strongly suspect is that you have a bad registration clutch. That drives the rollers just out of the paper tray and is very prone to failure.
If you want to try and replace that let me know, I can get you the part number to order and tell you how to replace it. It really is not hard to do at all.
Just removal of the left side cover and a couple of clips.
ou need to either advance (paper feeds quicker) or elay paper feed there has to be a registration adjustment
It can be as simple as adjustment of the feed wheels or some type of delay in the drum rotation take alcohol and clean the feed rollers they may be slipping
That problem is the registration clutch.
You have to order the registration assembly to get the clutch. It is located on assembly with the black and stainless steel roller, you have to pop out the imaging unit to see it.
But that WILL fix your problem. They changed the style of clutch also. It is more reliable now.
sounds like the registration clutch is sticking, unplug machine. the reg. clutch is located in the middle of the machine, under the drum unit, it should have about 4 little gray rollers on it, @ the rear of the shaft in the back part of the machine you will see the reg. clutch. take a little bit of alcohol and pour it over the clutch and move the roller to get the toner/dirt out of the clutch. let the alcohol dry. try machine.
