Vertical lines near both sides of screen
SOURCE: Toshiba 50HP95 50 in. Plasma TV Has A Black Vertical Line!
either the address buffer or the panel has gone bad..a technician would be needed to determine which one..

just repaired one of these with the same fault. at the bottom of the plasma panel you will see a row of ribbon connectors, on the back of the ribbon connectors are some surface mount components. resolder these components on the offending connector, clean the contacts on the ribbon connector and reconnect. unfortunately getting to the connectors is quite a job, so give yourself plenty of time. if this doesn't cure the fault then the poor connection is on the plasma panel which you cannot repair, the only option then would be to replace the panel.

One of two things could be wrong.. One is the digital board and or connector. the second is that the LCD display is going bad..

I have this same problem with my 52 inch toshiba regza , The repair shop has said the cost of repair is as much as it is to replace the TV. I am past the one year warranty, but less than 2 year ownership, so Toshiba won't fix the known issue. Solution is don't buy a Toshiba

My 52 in regza has a vertical line on the right side as well just under 2 years old, out of warranty and to costly to repair, I paid $2500 as well. The TV has been on its stand since the day I bought it and has been moved once.
