Can I get parts hot kitchen aid hand mixer model khm7twh beater won’t stay in because plastic tabs are broken that hold the beater in

Hello, Joe -

From a post on a YouTube video demonstrating a McGyver-type fix to a damaged beater ring (the plastic piece which holds a beater in place) apparently KitchenAid has discontinued the availability of the beather ring.

This is the link to the YouTube video with the McGyver-type repair demonstrated:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmS4FbROS50
The comment about the discontinued beater ring is from Dan Peters.

See the information here from KitchenAid:
http://producthelp.kitchenaid.com/Countertop_Appliances/Hand_Mixers/Hand_Mixer_Assembly_and_Operation/Beaters_fall_out

If you decide not to try the McGyver-type repair and choose to purchase a new hand mixer, you may wish to put the old mixer up for sale, to be used for repair parts (since it still has 1 good beater ring.) Or, you can send the old mixer to electronics recycling.

Best wishes.

How do I keep beaters in mixer without them falling out?

Each beater may be shaped differently and only will click into its appointed port. There may be a picture on the mixer showing which side to put each beater.

Just replaced planetary and gears, flat beater still heating bowl. is planetary to be loose or fit tight against mixer head?

The beater cannot "heat" the bowl, so I am going to assume that is a typing error, and you meant hitting.
If the beater hits the bowl it is usually caused by the adjusting screw at rear of the column being improperly set. To correct this you need to turn the adjusting screw slightly to right, or left to adjust clearance. Clearance should be 1/16", about the thickness of a dime.
If this does not fix the problem, and the beater still rubs the bottom of the bowl, it can be corrected by tapping the yoke arm with a mallet, there should be 1/16" clearance between bottom of bowl and end of the beater.
You can determine the 1/16" by dropping a dime in the bowl, the flat beater should just "touch" the coin as the beater rotates.
If you have questions feel free to call us @ the Mending Shed.
Thank you,

Beater hits bowl beater height adjustment screw does not fix problem

Is this a new beater that you just bought? Or is it the same beater you have had? When you adjust the screw, which way are you turning the screw, how much is it hitting the bowl?

If the beater is too close to the bowl the adjustment screw should be turned in. If the threads on the screw are loose the screw needs to be replaced.

Page 17 and 21 both show how to adjust the head of the mixer so the beater his the bowl correctly. Here is a link to the service manual: http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/mendingshed/kitchenaidservicemanual.pdf

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Need beaters for a black and decker SM100 mixer

I searched for replacement beaters for Blacker & Decker SM-100 type 1 (SM100) electric stand mixer for years. I found the Sunbeam Mixmaster Mixer Replacement Beaters for stand mixers, item 4955, at a large Ace hardware store. They were priced over $16.00, so you may consider buying a new stand mixer. The beaters are the correct length, snap in and grip correctly even though the ends are curved like a half ball rather than flat as the originals. The beaters turns well but I haven't tested them with the bowl because I need to find the turn table that I have in storage. The beater set was design ed to replace parts for Sunbeam stand models 2355-1, 2356-1 and 2360-2.

I have a new sunbeam mixmaster 2594 and can not remember where I put the user's guide. There are two different shaped mixers and I don't know which goes where.

Hello Hdjohnston! If I were you I would call Sunbeam's Customer service number
Or email them and ask for a replacement user's guide (aka manual). This shouldn't be a problem as I've gotten replacement guides for other things before with no trouble :) Better yet, here's a link to get you your manual from Sunbeam's official website:
http://www.sunbeam.com/InstructionManuals.aspx?section=

Also, if you sunbeam mixmaster is like mine, it you look at the holes where the beaters are inserted it shows little symbols of beaters (one with for example a square top and the other with a more curved top) which lets you know which type of beaters goes in where!
Hope this helps! Kat

I need replacement beaters for an old GE hand mixer.

I bought an old GM mixer no. 30M47 with no beaters yesterday at the Salvation Army store. The beaters I have for a newish (ugly) GE hand held beater fit perfectly. I suggest taking your old beater to a store that sells new GE handheld beaters and seeing if the new beaters fit. If anyone reads this and wants me to look up the number of the new ugly beater for them, please say so before I take it to the Salvation Army.. : )
