SOURCE: Printing by SHARP AR M161 on Mac 9.2.2.
Go to printer setup and click on new printer. You should get a long list of printers. Hopefully yours is on the list. Click on the printer name and you will be presented with several drivers. Choose the one that is the best for you. Before you exit print a test page. Give the printer a name.
If this does not work you will have to install the windows driver. This is only possible If your Mac can run windows software.

There is a vista driver available for that model as long as you are talking about the M161 not 161. Do you have the optional print kit installed or only parallel interface. If you only have the parallel connection it requires the GDI driver which can be downloaded from Sharpusa.com under support then type your model and select OS and driver type GDI
Hope this helps,

go to www.sharp.net.au
select the support link on the banner at the top of the page
select software and drivers from the download centre box. This will open a new window. On the left of the screen select Photocopiers. From the drop down menu select your model, ARM 160 will be OK for this machine. Click on GO and select youe operating system and then this will open the drivers available. Depending on your configuration and requirements select the driver and download it. If you are unsure about what driver then the PCL/PS drivers are a good bet for network printing. If you are using a USB connection you will have to download the Button Manager as well.
