Turns on but keeps flashing on and off the words please wait, what should I do
SOURCE: my DYNEX 19" LCD TV dont turn on?
Power at the outlet? ok?
Plugged in the outlet? ok?
Power cord plugged in to the REAR of the tv very snug? ok?
Using the remote? Batteries ok? ok?
Red light on? ok---- Unplug the tv for a few seconds and retry. ok? Still no-go?
Unplug the tv and remove the rear cover, remove the stand screws to do this. ok?
The small circuit board ( you will be certain you have the correct board simply because it is the smaller of the two boards. The Mother board is much larger. Another way to be sure you have the correct board is to folow where the power cord connects to the tv----that board!!! )ok?
Now, very important!
There are small components called CAPACITORS. They are approx. 1/2 inch high and about the size of your pinky finger around. They all look about the same, but vary in size. They will have an "X" marked on the top usually. Now, this is what to look for! They must be FLAT on top. If they are round, buldging, or burnt then they are BAD!!! Take care and you can easily remove the board by simply removing the wires and screws from the board. (be sure to draw on paper where things go or otherwise mark where they go so reinstalling the board will be rather easy)
Remove any glue from them carefully and then using a soldering iron or gun just simply melt the solder on the rear of the board and pull them out. Take them with you to your local electric supply store and solder in the new ones. Look for any bad ones on the MOTHER board also and replace if needed. Rarely are they bad. The problem is nearly always with the POWER board.
With everything hooked back up and put back together, plug the tv in to the outlet and turn on the tv. Voila, enjoy!
NOT willing to do this. Well, simply get the model number, etc., and google the power supply for it and order it. Install it, trust me you CAN do this, and There you go. Enjoy!!!

Try a hard restart, which simply means unplugging the power cord of the TV, and replugging it after 4 hours have passed. This technique reprograms the electronics, to a certain extent. If the picture does not return, then your TV has a more serious problem, that requires the attention of a repairman.
