SOURCE: Philips 42PF7220A/37 Red Light blinks 5 times in a row

After a lot of research, I have been able to locate the part which in my Philips 42PF7220A/37 Plasma TV appears to be the problem. I found out that heating and cooling certain parts of the board(s) allowed me to get beyond the 5 flashes error message and power up the TV. Through a process of elimination, I narrowed it down to the SSB Tuner board 3104-313-60376, This board is located behind the board covered with the shield. The specific component in question is the one I have circled in red on the attached photo. It is a crystal Xtal 27 mHZ 18Pf PART# 2422-543-01397. When I spray this component with cold air (freeeze) for a couple of seconds and then plug the power back in the TV will go through it's initialization cycle and turn on. It may turn off automatically, in which case, you just power it back on either manually or with the remote. It has now been 7 days, and it hasn't failed since. I have NOT replaced the part, if it fails again, that will be my next step. The part is about $ 10.00. The entire card can be purchased for about $ 100.-
I am reluctant to do anything further, because I'm not positive that the component is the problem or possibly the input to it. What I do understand is that a crystal can be excited (turned on) by either heat or cold. Perhaps it was stuck and spraying it with cold and heat released it. In any event, the TV is working for now. Hopefully it will stay this way.
If anyone can shed some light on why this may have happened, I would appreciate it.1670792.jpg

SOURCE: red light blinking, tv doesn't start

Your TV is in Protection Mode right now. A part inside the TV has failed and the TV will not turn ON to prevent other parts from being damaged. The red light blinking is an error code for diagnosing the problem part on the one of the power supply boards. The problem boards that need to be looked at is the Backlight Inverter Board or the Main Power Supply Board.
There is a slim chance you can leave the TV unplugged for an hour so the TV can discharge and reset itself. But other than that, I would use the warranty if possible. The TV repair shop maybe expensive, so get some price quotes to see if it worth the trouble.

Microphone PG58 won't turn on, it has a blinking red light when I push the power button

Your circuit board could be bad, but i would pull out the circuit board and spray contact cleaner onto the button, let it dry a few minutes and connect the battery and press that button quiet a few times and see if that fixes the problem.

Hi,

Configuring codes:

  1. Turn on the component that you want to set up.
  2. Hold the component key down until the green indicator light comes on. The green light should come on after approximately 3 seconds.
  3. Release the component key.
  4. If you are programming the DVD or CD device press the "action" key. The red indicator light will come on.
  5. Within thirty seconds, enter in a 4-digit code number. The component key lights will blink with an upward motion when a code has been successfully entered. In this case proceed to step #5. If the code has not been successfully entered, the componment lights will not blink. In this case return to strep #1 and start over.
  6. Test code by pressing "Power" key. If the component turns off, you've got the right code. Follow the same instructions to set up your other components. If the component doesn't turn off, return to step 2 and use the next 4-digit code listed.

Note: If none of the codes turn your component off, try the Auto Code Scan function.

Auto Code Scan:

The Auto Code Scan feature allows you to set up your components without having to enter in code numbers. The Jensen will do the work for you! (It may take a few minutes to find your code using this method.)

Philips 37PF9431D/37 No Picture

While I can't tell you what this particular code means I know from experience that power boards fail frequently commonly on those TVs. Do you hear a clicking of the power supply first on and then off after a few seconds?

There's a guy or a company on eBay that offers trade-in for faulty power supplys, you should check them out:
http://stores.shop.ebay.com/TechFetch

Search for 37'' Philips in the title or contact them to ask about it. Used to be $99 flat including return shipping.
