Turn on the tv a few seconds later it shuts the power light blink

WHEN it turns off press and hold both the menu and input buttons on the front of the set for at least 5 seconds and release both.

watch for power light to blink a two digit error code like 1 blink, 2 blinks and then pause and repeat the code for about 5 times .

A model number would help but many have a self check; when turn set on and power light (green?) comes on and a few seconds later off on the front of the set press and hold both the menu and input (label may be source) for at least 5 seconds and release both.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 1 blink, 2 blinks and pause and repeat it for a total of 5 times.

If you have unplugged the set it will always show the 1,2 above which is no error found, power it back and turn it on again, when fails do the check again.

UNPLUG TV AND THEN PLUG BACK IN---TURN ON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ON FOR A MOMENT AND GOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD “device” and “menu” buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release both together.


Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem


******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protect the Convergence IC or IC’s is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergence IC and shut down.


SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES AND THEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.

i have the same problem

Three blinks - B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672.

Sony FD Trinition Wega KV-32HS510 Try to turn tv on -it starts then shuts off -stand by lights keeps flashing. Memory stick light flashes then goes off.

tv comes on then turns blue at that time it shuts down. The power is on and then it blinks 5 times!!!

How many times per second does the POWER led blink? (dont worry about the OPC).

1x per second (constant, steady blink) = bad inverter/lamps
2x per second = bad power supply
3x per second = bad main board

You can buy the parts online and fix if yourself!!
