Phil. If you do not have voltage at the element, then the Electronic Oven Control ( EOC ) has failed. Part number # 5701M403-60

In order to check for the correct voltage at the element you will need to remove power and pull the range out of its installed location and remove the back panel of the range to gain access to the wiring and element. CAUTION ! I cannot stress this enough ! There are dangerous voltages in this area!! After the panel has been removed, return power to the range, set the lower oven to bake, and check the voltage at the element. You should find 220-240 volts between the element terminals with them connected to the element. If you do not have the proper voltage then you will need to replaced the EOC.

SOURCE: bottom element in oven not working

bake%20element2.jpg Bake element Most times it is easy to see a failed oven element. Their will bea hole or a welded mark somewhere on the element where a piece ofcheese fell on it and caused a hotspot. You can also check elementswith a meter or simply apply some wall current to them using a cheatercord to see if it gets warm. If the element gets warm that means itwill work and is not bad. If the element ain't coming on but you havechecked it out, of course then that would be the thermostat. HEADS UP: When fooling with the stove always be sure the power isoff. Pull out the bottom drawer and most of the time you can unplug thepower cord without moving the stove. To make it easier to work on most stoves the oven door can beremoved. I set the door at the broil position and gently ease up on thedoor, remove it, and set it to the side.

Whirlpool built in electric oven bake (bottom)heating element does not heat up only tot heats when in bake mode

CHECK FOR CRACKS IN THE BAKE ELEMENT. IF THE UNIT IS NOT HEATING THE BOTTOM, BUT THE TOP IS STILL HEATING, YOU MORE THAN LIKELY HAVE TO REPLACE THE ELEMENT. THIS IS A 220 VOLT OVEN WITH 110 VOLTS ALWAYS GOING TO THIS ELEMENT, SO TURNING OF THE BREAKER IS VITAL FOR SAFETY PURPOSES. WITH AN OHM METER, UNINSTALL THE ELEMENT AND CHECK BOTH WIRE CONNECTIONS FOR OHMS. YOU SHOULD GET SOME KIND OF READING BETWEEN 10 OHMS AND 500 OHMS. IF YOU'RE NOT AT LEAST GETTING A SOLID READING, REPLACE THIS ELEMENT.

Top oven bottom coil doesn't come on. Is it

Yes the lower element of a electric oven is the bake element, the upper on is broil element,
The most usual thing why it doesnt heat is a broken element. Does a part of it look smooth and a part real rough and ragged looking
If a part of it looks ragged and rough the element is bad,it should not be bulged out anywhere of it.
it should look smooth and uniform
If it does seem to be not uniform anywhere on it,replace bake element

Hello, We have a bosch hbn7052gb oven. The lower oven flashed and now the bottom oven doesn't heat up, everything else works ok the fan, the top oven etc. Can you advise what needs...

Bottom element has failed. Probably 2 screws at rear to remove & replace. Disconnect fast-ons from rear - extract element - replace. best to get electrician to do this - simple job & element should be inexensive. - Rick

TOP OVEN WORKS OK BUT BOTTOM OVEN DOES NOT HEAT UP

Hello,

There are a number of reasons why you may find that your oven doesn't heat up, and troubleshooting oven heating elements is not too complicated, so you should be able to manage this in a few hours. When you are trying to decide what is the cause of your oven not heating up properly, you should be able to identify the different problems, and also understand how to repair the oven without too much difficulty. If you find a lot of problems, then you may need to provide a different solution, for example replacing the heating element and fittings completely.
Heating Element is Broken
This is perhaps the most common cause of the oven not heating up. The element inside the oven will not become hot if the electrical connections are damaged, or if the element itself is not working. The heating element can be removed and replaced easily, and this is perhaps a very good idea if you have any problems with the heating system of your oven. Test the heating element by firing up the oven with the door open, and your hand close to the front of the element. You should be able to feel it warming up, so if it doesn't, take of the screws which hold it in place, and then unplug the connections. You can take the heating element to a store and they should be able to replace the part for you.

Hope this help in solving the problem.....
