Hi, you have to start troubleshooting by checking the belt which is most likely the culprit, if the belt is in good condition, check the basket that is attached directly to the transmission which itself spins during the spin cycle, the retaining nut maybe loose. You have to remove the agitator and basket to verify this....

SOURCE: Asko clothes washer front loader

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Possibly blocked filter.
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Following are my complete and generic guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

SOURCE: I have an Asko W600

Hi

First make sure that nothing is blocking the drain pump assembly located inside the bottom of the unit, after this test the door lock-switch assembly. If the door lock-switch is also fine then the control board should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

SOURCE: i have an asko w600 front load washer, seems to wash ok, but will not go into spin cycle, drain pump operates - slowly, but does not start spin cycle. saw somewhere on net that pump may be faulty

Hello Greg, welcome to FixYa.
To address your post of the washer not spinning and your curiosity of a faulty pump...the pump may simply be obstructed preventing a proper drain, thus a compromised spin, they are directly related. These frontloaders will not spin until they drain sufficiently. (though a faulty drain pump is possible, it woud be the exception, not the rule).
There is typically a drain filter in the pump as you may or may not know, based on your description it may be clogged. You'll need to access it, clean it out via draining it through the pump "emergency drain hose" before you can in the end open the door (though usually once drained to a safe level it will open under normal procedures) however there should be a door lock release on Asko built machines...including the W600 series.
This is the procedure for machines of the past 10yrs. or so...(this is only an example, it may not be exact but essentially the same as yours)

Hopefully this will help. Let me know if anything is unclear or If I can assist you going forward. Thank you for choosing FixYa and good luck going forward.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)

Asko w600 front load washer did not spin water out of clothes. I emptied the drain pump and now it fills with water but doesnt wash the clothes. The water drains out but nothing else. Help

Check to see if your model has a "out of balance" micro switch.
If it's tripped from you moving the unit around you may have to reset it manually. It will be mounted somewhere close to the outer perimeter of the tub. Can't say exactly where. Could be high or low.
