The door to my ASKO 6511 won't open. The display is showing LE error. The release lever on the inside of the handle has zero resistance, like it's not connected to the latch anymore. If it's a broken rod or latch, how can I get the door open to replace the part? Is there an emergency release somewhere? I looked next to the drain on the bottom left of the machine, but could not find any.

Pull the front panel off, look for a plastic piece , it has a filter that you need to pull out. turn it to the left pull it out and clean it. This solved the problem for me. had the same issues.

you need to buy a new 'handle'. to open the door for the time being, disconnect power and then use a coat hangar to pull the latch towards you, ie. outwards

hiya easiest way to open is = first unplug power! then turn off water hoses to machine then draw machine out to gain access to pipe connections on rear and disconnect them ? now remove rear panel top screws as these also secure the top panel at rear then lift rear of top panel and pull to rear the panel now can be removed ? you now have access to the latch on front panel inside? if you reach down you can flick latch /hook clear to open door ? at this point after removing washing? you can observe the door inner remove inner panel that surrounds/secures glass? then you can observe how the door handle/lock assy is secured ? easy diy you can browse yellow pages for the replacement handle assy? machine repairs/spares reassembly is reverse to above wish you well this is a common occurance and should not have prob obtaining parts for the MAKE/MODEL NUMBER ? when enquiring for parts best wishes

if clothes are still in washer? and machine has finished cycles? then handle broke so unable to open ??? your best option is to unplug/ and if necessary disconnect water supply hoses then remove the top screws from rear panel which also secure the top panel as you will observe ? then pull backwards top panel and loft off ? you now have access/visual of the door catch inside front machine look?? at the catch and you will see how it locks ? you can lever the catch gently and door opens to fit a new door catch is easy diy and not expensive if you are confident usual problem these break ? is the time delay micro switch sticks with age /moisture try dw40 and work plunger b4 you refit door back after replacing handle/catch assy
