SOURCE: LG C12AWR Air conditioner head fan not working

Check that the fanmotor can spin freely. If not, can be caused by seized bearing on left side of fanblade, or foreign object, insect nest stuck in fanblade. If however it spins freely, check that fanmotor is being supplied with voltage (you sound technically capable of operating a volt meter). If power is supplied, fanmotor is faulty and needs replacing. If no voltage, problem lies with the pc board. If you know someone who is capable let them check the relays on the board. Also you can check that all plug on connectors are making good connection.

SOURCE: lg split indoor fan runs non stop

Hello Hamid,
The unit is designed to run the indoor fanmotors continuously when in cooling mode on both indoor units (evaporators). The reason is that this circulates the air and the temperature thermistor or sensor is able to sense return air temperature and in turn start or stop the outdoor unit and compressor as required according to the setpoint temperature. The reason for either unit not reaching setpoint temperature can be a couple of reasons. A) Incorrect design - the unit may be too small for the application. You can calculate this roughly at 650BTU per square meter of room in a relatively warm ambient climate. Or secondly B) The outdoor unit has leaked and is short of refrigerant. You can check this when the outdoor unit is running by feeling the thicker copper tube on the right hand side of the unit. This should be cool to cold. If no temperature difference is felt, it is short of refrigerant. Hope this helps you. Goodbye

SOURCE: ice formation in the indoor unit

you need to have the unit checked for the amount of freon in the system this must be done with a gauge set the freon amount is obviously incorrect
also the a-frame evaporator must be sealed in the furnace cabinet

My AC model is Blue Star 1.5 ton 5 star inverter split AC. ODU is switching off when temperature reach its setpoint, but not the IDU. Does any one help me why it is so?

You likely are running a constant fan. Fan should be set for auto, this means it turns off when compressor turns off.

I HAVE 1.5 TON SPLIT A/C WHAT SIZE OF RUNNING CAPACITOR WILL WORK IN COMPRESSOR?

the capacitor that is required is the same size as what is fitted
it will read as voltage and uf number
best have a ac technician check it out as it may not be the capacitor but the power board
some ac units have a capacitor that is in effect two capacitors in one to run the compressor and the cooling fan as well
best get the technician in as it could save a lot of money in the long run

Samsung 1.5 ton slpit AC.the out door unit is very noisy

Check to see if the noise is coming from the fan, could be bad bearings. Replace the fan motor if that is the case. If the noise is coming from the compressor, the only other place besides the fan, then your compressor has some issues and will probably stop working soon, maybe line up for a replacement before you are left with a hot house.

Amana 1 ton Residential AC / Outside unit comes on for a sec

open the service panel to check for control voltage of 24volts when tstat calling, The contactor should be pulled in, if contactor is down, and contacts appear to be clean, and the unit is still not running, it is a bad compressor. to test this unplug the black wire from the compressoror at contactor,w/ power off! Turn on power if fan works normally it's a bad compressor. However if you see a swollen split cap(5 wires to a soup can looking w/ the terminal C,F,and Comp), switch it first and start at square one.
You also need to consider the high pressure switch if its cycling on off on off.

Ruud achiever 10 seer air conditioner

It sounds like your condenser fan motor may be locked up or the capacitor that helps give the condenser fan motor a kick to get it started may be defective. Try turning your system on and using a long screwdriver try to push the fan blade on the condenser fan motor to see if it will run normally if you give it the starting boost it needs. If it does run at full speed and doesn't over heat or start and then slow down then you probably only need to replace a simple 10-12$ capacitor. If it barely turns, makes an odd humming sound or overheats etc. then you will have to replace the condenser fan motor. This is assuming that the outdoor condenser has the 220v supplied and the 24v supplied to the compressor relay, that the compressor relay is engaged and suppling 220v to the condenser fan motor.
