Hi you are going to have to replace the burner control , this is a easy fix and the thermostat assebley isent that expensive if you give me the info on the unit i will find a part for you Frank

Check for a blown fuse or tripped main circuit breaker. (Your fuse box.)

Firstly turn the power off. Lift the cooktop out from the benchtop and lean it against the wall. There will be a small panel where the wiring terminates into the cooktop. Remove the panel and disconnect the wiring to the cooktop. Ensure that you insulate all wires properly. You can then turn the power back on if you need to.

Look on the model tags and they will tell you for sure but usually cooktop 30 amp Ovan 30 amp and Microwave 15 or 20 amp

I suspect a faulty element or electrical connection to the element.

Sounds like the fan is bad. It can be replaced without replacing vent.

You probably have a burnt out element. They almost always short out when they burn out. If it is a coil unit it may be visible. A smooth top unit can't be diagnosed without removing the top glass. Most of the time you can do this yourself. Sometimes when a burner goes it will ruin the switch also.
