What is the largest size card it will format?
The A7 uses SD cards, which max out at 2GB. It will not work with higher-capacity SDHC cards.

I have a Kodak C340 and had the same problem. I was about to take it to the shop and tryed putting a smaller SD card in the camera and it worked. I tryed to use a 1gb card and it would not work the 512mb works just fine. Hope this is helpful.

The largest SD card you can use in your Samsung NV10 is 2GB. thats why once you insert the 8GB sd card its shows card error or need to fromat.
FYI. for every digital camera there's a compatible memory card and you can see from the box or manual and Its writen SD or SDHC.
