I have a mitsubishi WD 6573TV. Sound Issue. Last night I came home and have picture but no sound. I completely powered it down and let it set overnight. Came in today had sound but could not control

I tried the input / Format reset as well as the small reset button under the front cover. Still not having any success. Hoping we dont have to buy a new TV.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi VS-5041 (TV turns on but no pic or sound)

Your problem is one and or 2 differant problems. The power regulator could have went bad because of the convergence IC have shorted. Seen this a thousand(easy that!)Times. All parts in this set are soldered in and are not user serviceable. look in your owners manual or call 800-332-2119 to get an authorized servicer to come and look at your problem . I wish i could tell you what to replace but theres the Extreme Hi voltage inside these sets even when they are not plugged in .. Good Luck

SOURCE: Can not change "Device" input, no sound control,no remote control

I unplugged the manual switch electrical connection. Everything works just fine with the remote.
Not sure what is wrong with the switches just yet, but suspect a resistor problem. I have checked all voltages and have 5.04 v feeding the switch assembly on what I feel are the correct circuits
(5v, ksco, ksc1, man/reset). I have no voltage on the ground circuit with the board plugged in, so the ground circuit should be ok. I have tested all switches with ohmmeter, all switches work. I suspect a resistor problem as I have one with no voltage drop and one resistor with no voltage pass-thru. Would need a wiring schematic with values to pinpoint better.

SOURCE: No picture no sound....Mitsubishi WT-46809

Your Power supply will most likely have to be replaced. Very common, the capacitor's inside these units due tend to get overheated and burn out. You can test power coming from the power supply with a voltmeter

My WD 57733 will attempt to power up (almost like a whistling sound as it attempt to power up) then will power back down.

When was the last time you replaced the lamp? That sort of sounds like the ballast is unhappy with a bad lamp. The 57733 is a good TV. The other possibility is a stuck/dirty color wheel.

Check the lamp and see if it looks worn out(dark or grey in the tube down the center). Also make sure its either a Philips brand or Osram brand.

Let me know and Ill see what I can recommend next

Mitsubishi wd-65831 one night worked fine next day nothin..

If you hear a whining noise, the odds are it is the color wheel, the bearings are bad in it and will need to be replaced as a whole unit, kinda pricey, my suggestion, sale the bulb and all boards in it and which should fetch about 400+ and invest in a new TV, a color wheel is pricey unless you can find a deal
