I found this info on the web for you, guessing you are using a recycled or generic cartridge:
The HP LaserJet 2300 toner cartridge has a smart chip on the top left side. This chip tells the printer when the toner is low.
Recycled toners do not or can not reset the chip, therefore when you use a recycled toner you may get toner low messages although the toner is good.
Also, you may get the 10.10.00 error. There is a work around to fool the printer into not displaying the message.
Place a strip of opaque tape or paper on the chip. When the printer detects a non-standard cartridge press the green (go) button. It will then reset the LCD to Ready.
No guarantees but it seems plausible.
