Freezer Constantly Runs.

Had a Sears technician come out to service the freezer. He told me you just have to replace the thermostat. I did that. The freezer maintains the proper temperature but does not stop running.

Do you know what design temperature is for that freezer? Some are meant for 0 degrees others for -10 or 15. I would say you are trying to maintain -10 for a food freezer and trying to keep ice cream frozen. Ice cream freezers need to be colder than food freezers. I know it sounds dumb but look it up. Check the door gaskets to see that there is no leakage and the surrounding area should be no higher than 75 degrees, (otherwise it\'ll run all the time). Hope this helps and good luck.

SOURCE: True freezer T-35F shoudl it be running hard all the time?

Check and clean condenser regularly, check thermostat set at 2 or 3 and check fan is working ok. Apart from that, check the evaporator isn't frozen solid with ice.

Kenmore freezer model 2709 will not run for more then 2 or 3 mins

It's either a bad thermostat, or a bad compressor kicking out on overload. There are other rare possibilities. A multi meter is the best way to check the thermostat (using ohms), but if you don't have one then you can unplug the box and wire around the thermostat and the plug the box back in to see if it runs longer. If so, then unplug the box and replace the thermostat. If you are unfamiliar with wiring then call a technician. Electricity can kill you if you don't know what you're doing, so don't chance it if you don't know anything about it.

Freezer gets to cold

HI

If your thermostat cannot control your motor automatically for on and off then you should change it as it is the only unit that can cause this problem.

Freezer runs constantly, seal is okay, frost free, have tried lowering the temp, food stays frozen. [email protected]

It seems to me that the thermostat is no longer sensing temperature. IT will either stay on (it controls the compressor) or wont come on at all when it becomes a problem. You can order one thru sears.com if there is not a appliance parts store nearby. To check before buying, heres what you do. You need to know the temperature (use a thermometer that reads below zero). it has to be at least 10 degrees or cooler. if it is then turn down thermostat dial to 1. if it shuts off then the thermostat is ok. if it doesnt turn off (the compressor) replace t'stat. let me know the temp. and if this works for you hope this was helpful...

Digital display and computer board needs to be replaced

No, not necessarily a lemon. With the higher percentage of electronic controls being used in appliances these days it happens - and is no small cost. My advice to you is bite the bullet and DON'T repair it, buy a new one, with an extended service warranty.

Freezer frost

That you have to 2 defrost your freezer it's normal depending of many factors. Do you open it often, is it in a warm place, is the food that you are putting in it is warm? many factors contribute of building up frost faster.

My freezer's defrost systems runs constantly

i dont think so i would look at the compressor kicking out on thermal overload or a faulty thermostat thermostats have two settings cut in cut out your cut in could be bad and not turning the compressor on till the temp reaches melting temps now if your hearing a click buzz then you need to look at the compressor and make sure the compressor fan is running but its not a defrost promblem

Freezer runs constantly

not necessarily, is it maintaining temp? all food staying frozen? especially ice creams if stored in there. most newer freezers displace the heat generated while cooling the food through copper lines running through sides of unit, helps to cut down on air temp differences between the inside (0 degrees) and outside temp to prevent moisture and possible condensation causing premature rusting of unit
