I found the problem with my non-networked Samsung ML-1610 laser printer.

I had it plugged into a 4 way (unpowered) v2.0 hub.

When I plugged it directly into a USB port on the computer the printing error disappeared

E não imprime o meu documento. O que pode ser feito?

There's probably a small bit of paper jammed in the paper-out sensor (hopefully. Otherwise the sensor may have been snapped off).

Extract the paper tray and look inside with a strong light. The paper out sensor should be a dark gray or black piece of plastic dangling from the upper left side. Remove any paper bits you find with a pair of tweezers, then blow on the mechanisms with a compressed air canister for good measure.

at http://www.adassoft.com/en/linux/235-instalar-impressora-scx-4200-no-opensuse-110.html this problem is mentioned (on a suse 11.1, using the samsung-drivers) - the author thinks it's related with koffice - i have the same problem on a mandriva spring 2009 linux with samsung scx-4200R, but printing out of kooffice works fine for me, okular and thunderbird show me the above error (with version qpdl...2005). So far I've no idea how to fix that...if you use linux, one problem may be that first you need to install cups and sane, then the samsung driver packages.

We would also like to know exactly how to fix this problem as it doesn't seem to work at all now!

Reinstall the printer drivers. In your case, I recommend erasing completely the previous driver so you do not overwrite on them. This is just in case you have a bad sector in your hard drive, we do not want to reinstall over a bad sector. After the driver is erased, check your hard disk with the scandisk or chkdsk utility. Then reintall your driver from start.
