My gigabyte GA-G31m-s2L motherboard has while i am switchon the board CPU fan working but no other response happen in my monitor please give me troubleshooting method so as to avoid to buy new...

First thing when diagnosing a desktop computer problem, is check the Power Supply.

Really.

A Power Supply with a weak voltage power rail, can also emulate software problems.

(Emulate software problems; The bad hardware (Power Supply), can also make it seem like it is a software problem. It isn't. It's a hardware problem -> Power Supply )

1) Is your computer dirty inside? This will make the computer not work, and also 'kills' Power Supply's.
They overheat, and components inside the Power Supply fail.
(Go bad)

Know this;

1) If ALL of the LED lights were on at once, they would use less than 1 Watt of power.

2) EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts of power.

3) A typical Processor can use 51 to 125 Watts of power. Just depends on what Processor it is.

Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L?

LGA 775 processor socket, and an Intel G31 motherboard chipset,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_intel_chipsets#Core_2_chipsets

Scroll down to G31 in the left column.
Also go back to the Gigabyte Support page.
Click on the Support & Downloads tab.
(Overview / Specification / Support & Downloads / FAQ / etc)

Click on the blue - CPU Support List tab.
(CPU Support List / Memory Support List / Accessory )

Your motherboard can support Processors that use 35 Watts all the way up to 135 Watts.

Point?
If you have a Power Supply with a weak voltage power rail; you may see LED lights light, and fans spin; but there will NOT be enough power to turn the Processor ON.

Do you have a multimeter to test the 3 main voltages?
OR;
Do you have a KNOWN to be good, Compatible power supply; to use for a temporary test unit?

Also;
When working on your computer FOLLOW Anti-Static Precautions.
If you are not aware of what Anti-Static Precautions are, please post back in a Comment.
DO NOT work on your computer until you do.

Remove all Ram Memory modules. ('Stick')
Clean the gold plated contact pins with a pencil eraser.

If using an eraser on the end of a pencil; and not a solid eraser; refrain from letting the metal band of the pencil; touch the gold plated contact pins.

Rub across all gold plated contact pins, and up, and down. BOTH sides.
When finished use air to remove the eraser dust.
You can use a can of compressed air for computers, or air pressure from your mouth will be sufficient.

Handle the Ram Memory module by the BODY.
The Body is everywhere on the Ram Memory module, EXCEPT the gold plated contact pins.
The Body is coated with a see-through protective plastic,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Generic_DDR_Memory_%28Xytram%29.jpg

Reinstall the Ram Memory module/s. Plug the computer back into power. WAIT 1 minute, turn the computer on.

My motherboard(ga-6cxc rev 2.0 motherboard) don't show any sign of booting but if i let some part lose it beeps(long) what should I do? even the keyboard don't light up(num lock...) and monitor...

Unplug all of your RAM, expansion cards and IDE/SATA devices. Leave only the processor and the CPU/heatsink plugged in, now try turning it on. If it boots, you should get a ram error, which is normal. If it doesn't boot, either the board, processor, or power supply is bad. Next, reinstall the RAM and start it up again. If it boots again, keep adding parts until you find the one that is causing the problem.

Hope this helps.

GA-8SIML will not post or boot. Removed all PCI

Hi,

Firstly you check your RAM by use another RAM and then check it is working or not, after that if display is not coming then check your processor it is fitted properly or not if it have fitted and display is not coming then *********** board's winbond chip have been damaged.

Repair it from a techinician.

Gigabyte GA-945GCMX-S2 Motherboard having display..

At first I thought your screen went black during the start up process. After seeing the bios screen. In which case I would've said it was a bios setting for the display. Then I realized that I think you mean that their is no display at all. When you push the power button. Only the monitor led light. So, it may be a problem with your RAM stick/s. You should make sure that they are properly seated in the mother board. If they are new, make sure they are compatible with that motherboard. If you can you should swap them out with known good ram sticks. You could also try installing a video card and see if you can get display to work through that one. Make sure your main power supply wire connector is pushed in all the way. Swap the power supply with a known good one if you can. If still can't get it to work you may want to take the motherboard out and inspect it for burns, cracks, and anything that doesn't look right. Maybe contact the manufacturer of the motherboard and ask them what you can check. hope this helps.

I have a problem with my board Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L, encounter no display & no beeps even though I remove the RAM in the board please help me to solve this problem?

Do the fans still start spinning ? And did you do a CMOS clear ?
You should also try booting it without a graphics card and/or any other audio/network card, etc, so you only have the CPU and motherboard (and also try it with 1 RAM bank and without). When it beeps, it's probably alright (implicating other failing hardware).

When you hear no beeps at all (but the fans spin), it's pretty likely that the board is gone. You might want to doublecheck the powersupply and CPU nevertheless.
