SOURCE: problem with front load washer

Are stains a brown rusty color? If so, this may be an indication that the rear drum bearing is going bad. The bearing itself cannot be replaced. You will need to replace the entire back shell of the wash tub. Hope you have a warranty. This can be an expensive repair. Let me know if this is the case.

SOURCE: front loading washer leaves stains

This often is called "lint" but is really a "whiting" left by un-dissolved soap and can be seen at it's worst on dark colored clothes. This is made worse in a colder climate where the cold water entering the washer is much colder than normal. Things that can effect the quality of the finished washed products.
Too much soap: ( we have a test for this further down the page ) If you follow the manufactures instructions on the box, then chances are you ARE using too much soap. They like to sell you their product, I find cutting usage in 1/2 of what the box says will still wash good and also cut your chances of getting "whiting" on your clothes.

SOURCE: black marks

To eliminate possible bearing failure, spin the drum by hand and see if u can detect any rumbling noise or strange nioses coming from the drum, if u can then it is probably grease that is coming from the bearings. The other possible cause is an effect called ****, this is a result of washing at too low a temp, this causes a build up of dirt and grease, leading to the sort of prob that u are experiencing The thing u should do is to put the washer on at a high temp with powder in but no washing and do a full wash . This is called a maintenance wash, and should be done at least three or times a year depending on how often u wash more frequently if u do a lot of washing. Clean the door glass and rubber seal as thoroughly as u can ,and remove as much sludge and dirt as poss. This should help with your prob. Plz rate my solution. Thanks.

SOURCE: the washer is leaving a dark stain on all of my white clothes

the dark stains are caused by mold build up on the boot of the washer, the e70 may be a pump error. you need to wet a cloth with bleach and then wipe of the mold builldup on the boot, this should solve that problem.

Yellow stains on my clothes

Check carefully inside the drum. There may be something coloured like a crayon jammed in there that rubs against your clothing.
You could also try purchasing a washing machine " Cleaning solution" from your local hardware store and putting that through a cycle to flush out the machine.
After that, if this persists, the next suspect is "the dreaded oil or grease leak" from machine bearings. That unfortunately usually means a complete machine stripdown and rebuild to rectify and may be unviable economics for you.

Dark greasy stains after washing

When the seal starts to fail, this oil floats up into the wash water
in the form of small black drops. The stains are almost impossible
to remove from clothing. Also, as the oil is leaking up, hot soapy
water is leaking down into the transmission, which will eventually
cause it to fail.

The seal wont be difficult to replace, but to get access to it you have to
basically disassemble the whole machine. The hardest part was pulling the agitator off the shaft - I
use a slide hammer puller. I'd start by pulling the agitator off and
see if you can access the transmission seal that way - perhaps yours
will be easier than mine was.

Clothes come out with stains on them

I had a similar problem with my Kenmore front loader. Turned out that the rubber lining around the door was trapping dirty, soapy water causing a nasty residue to collect. That residue got onto the clothes. I cleaned the rubber liner and now keep the washer door open between uses. I still occasionally wipe down the rubber liner with a wet rag. Problem seems to have been solved.

Detergent stains on the finish of the washer and dryer

Try one or all of the cleaners listed below to remove the stain. Hope this helps you.
  • Oxygen bleach
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Acetone
  • Paint thinner
Steps to Remove the Stain:
  1. Laundry soap dyes are usually more difficult to remove than other colors.² However, oxygen bleach, such as Oxi-Clean, can sometimes clean away even the red stains. Sprinkle the powder on a damp sponge and scrub away the stain.
  2. Soak a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and wipe away the detergent stain. If the stain is not immediately lifted, allow the alcohol to soak for several minutes.
  3. Vinegar is effective on many kinds of stains. Make a solution of one part vinegar in two parts water and sponge the vinegar onto the stain.
  4. Baking soda can be effective for removing detergents from appliance surfaces. Sprinkle baking soda on a damp sponge and clean the stain until removed.
  5. Combine equal parts of 3% hydrogen peroxide with water and sponge the stain with the solution.
  6. Soak a cloth with acetone nail polish remover and use it to wipe off the stain. If the stain does not wipe off right away, it may help to lay the cloth over the stain to soak for a few minutes.
  7. As a last resort, wipe paint thinner on the stain. Paint thinner can remove most dye stains. However, you may want to test this on a small, hidden area first to be sure the paint thinner won't damage the lacquer on the appliance or cause any other adverse effects.
  8. Once you have removed the stain, wash the area with soapy water to remove any residue from the cleaning solution.

Stains on clothes

Have you tried Calgon to get rid of limescale deposits? Also have you used any laundry bleach at any point, because it stays in the machine for ages and clothes come out with faded patches and bleach marks for weeks afterwards.
