hi there, switch on your pc until windows appear,open your DVD CD room by pressing the button in front of dvd cd room on your pc.wait until the insttaller application appear the follow the instruction,and have it install then restart your computer to take effect.you can check this on device manager.select dvd device the left click and go to properties and check the driver.,sometime it failed to install due to compatibilty in case this happen find the driver compatible to your dvd.just type on internet, in search the brand of your dvd and include free driver.select the most applicabe.have a nice day.fix my rate,thanks a lot.

DEAR THE DVD ROM DRIVE IS A HARDWARE NOT A SOFTWARE.IN ODER TO INSTALL CD U HAVE TO PURCHASE A DVD ROM DRIVE .YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE SOFTWARE NERO 7.1

If the pc isn't recognizing the hardware the main reason this happens is that you need to install the proper drivers.

re-install after un-install the burning application.
