No. The MSD box takes the place of the Ford ignition module (duraspark II most likely).

a chiltons or hanyes repair book will tell u that it will run u 30 bucks at the most but it will be handy for any other problems that may come

NO it replaces it. Go to MSD and download the wire diagram for your application.

Hello! The Mad Street #8362 is not for a seven pin, computer controlled engine...It is for a five pin distributor...I believe your engine has a seven pin connector...The correct distributor is a: MSD Ignition 8555Guru...saailer

Since you are getting good spark, I would guess first that your timing is too far off. Use a timing light to check the timing since the distributor was replaced. If your timing is too far advanced or retarded it wont fire up, but do exactly as you mention. Also, be sure your firing order is correct.

95 civic with turbo 94 delsol v-tech motor. no spark!!

check if the distributor is good or it could be your msd try installing stock coil and distributor.

Crane Hi-6 ignition.....car quits going down the road. Sometimes it starts right back up, sometimes in 5 minutes or so. I noticed when it dies that the led is out on the ignition box. Could the box heat...

Check power SUPPLY to the ignition box when the problem is happening.If supply and ground are maintained at all times,then yes,it is the ignition box.I have an MSD 6AL i bought NEW about 5 years ago...it just quit working one day.MSD said they would fix it if i shipped it to them for a min/max charge.Min like $80.....max was $150.I bought an electronic distributor,module,and wiring harness from Mopar Performance for $200 brand new.
