Belkin N300 - CISCO Clean Access Agent

All configuration can be done with the router GUI.
Firewalls: Server Side Having a server side firewall is the typical configuration on many systems. There is only one method for doing this, whether you use telnet or ssh: map a port to be forwarded to the server in the firewall router. It is not advised that you use telnet from the Internet for security reasons; that is usually why you have a firewall.Decide which method of connectivity will be allowed, and determine what port you will use to forward to this service. If there is only one server involved, you can use port 22 for ssh or 23 for telnet and forward them straight through to the server. But if there are several servers involved and they do not have public IP addresses, you will need to pick different ports on the firewall router and let the router forward those ports to the different internal servers.

How to open NAT

With Belkin you have the option of disabling Firewall, or setting up a Virtual Server. You must provide the port based on program / game requirements.

Almost forgot, it does allow for 1 IP in the DMZ. This is you best bet. Easy peesy, nice and easy. gl

Linksy router

a DNS server stands for domain name service. The DNS server translatesnames from IP addresses. The internet sees IP addresses such as 209.235.250.53 but the DNS server provided by your ISP translates it for you into fixya.com. You should be able to aquire the DNS server information from your internet provider (ISP) hope this helps.

Cannot connect to internet

Make the Ip address similary to the router, example 192.168.1.25 should work.
SUbnet mask will then fill in automaticaly, just leave it
then Default gateway will be the routers IP. 192.168.1.1
the dns server would be the ip of your internet provider. I would leave it blank at first, see if it will work then. If not, then ask your service provider for it. If they give u a number, then you will have to go into the router properties, and change the dns and stuff like that in there aswell.
good luck

I cant get onto internet explorer it says dns error can you help?

Check out your internet connection and its settings, whether it is dial up or broadband oriented.
then you have to know about your ip address of dns server in the network setting places.
you just ping the ip address of dns server following as...

go to start, then run and type "cmd", and it shows the command prompt. type as following format.

ping 10.10.10.5 and press enter key.. this is the sample ip address only. if it gets reply, your dns server is ok. you can use internet. suppose, it wont comes, ask your service provider or support for another or different ip address of dns to check it out.
