It wont complete cycle and empty the water just hums for a while and then turns its self off

The cycle doesn't advance When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Hello, our whirlpool keeps washing and washing, never getting to the next cycle. thx for help.

Hello there:
The most common problem with this is that the timer is failing and will not allow the machine to go to the next cycle
So what you are going to have to do is to take off the back panel and remove the wires that are attached to the timer (this is the part that you select the different cycles from ) better know as the timer ok?
then remove the knob and remove the timer and replace it than hook up the wires back into the new one and put the knob back on and the test the machine ok? and hopefully you will be good to go from here:
I hope this is very helpfull for you
Best regards michael

Washer will wash but wont change to next cycle it turns off

Most likely a bad timer. Not to difficult for homeowner to replace... Be sure to replace wires on new timer EXACTLY as they came off of old timer. Best to leave wires connected to old timer and move one at a time.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Wont pump water

If it did not pump at all I would say you had a bad pump. Try removing hoses and check for plug up. If there is no plug up, I would manually try to adjust the timer to see where in the cycle it does not pump. It could be a bad cycle timer.

Timer stuck on cycle will work if manually moved

The timer has a small motor that advances it through the cycles. It either works or it's DOA. unfortunately you probably have to replace the timer complete.
