I just had a technician call Toshiba about this exact problem. The response from Toshiba was that this was a major issue they were having with that particular model...it is the main board which needs to be replaced...the cost? $260 for the part plus $130 labor plus some other fee...making purchasing a brand new TV at about the same cost. I had emailed Toshiba and their solution response was to unplug it and wait an hour. Shame on Toshiba for being aware of this issue and still selling them...at the very least, they should have sent purchasers a recall notification or offered to pay for part of the repair. I am dumping this Toshiba and going to the LG. So there is the solution. Get another TV

Yes and NO your tv is a LED. To be exact it is a LED Backlight LCD TV. An LED-backlight LCD television is an LCD TV that uses LED backlighting instead of the CCFLs used in traditional LCD televisions. It is not a true LED display but is called "LED TV" by some manufacturers.[1] The use of LED backlighting has a dramatic impact, resulting in a thinner panel, less power consumption and heat dissipation, and a brighter display with better contrast levels.
