Our ge spacemaker w/d starts off fine washes then stops when its time to drain and spin..what do we need...going to the laundromat.
Thanks for any help
I had similar problem with my ge spacemaker washer (model gtun275emww1, only in use 3 mos!). I was about to call the repairman after 24 hours of being stuck and not advancing to next portion of the cycle. I got info from ge site to reset the motor (mine had a surge two days prior, and also an off balance load... either of those may have caused my washer problem). How to reset the motor on (some) newer GE washers - unplug the power cord, then within 30 seconds of replugging power cord open and close the lid (raise lid at least 2 inches). 6 total times within 12 seconds. Sounds strange, but my washer is working today!! Hubs and I did this complete reset routine twice in a row, just for good measure. Good luck!
It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.
