SOURCE: water comes out of soap dispenser

http://www.applianceaid.com/neptune.html click this link and click the required option in the link Your washer can develop several types of leaks. You can track down a leak based on when it occurs:

During fill only
During drain and spin only
All the time
During fill only If the washer leaks only during the fill cycle, check these:

  • Air-gap device -The air gap is a small device found on most washers that prevents the wash water from being siphoned into the household water supply. It's located either mid-way along or at the end of the black rubber hose that comes from the water-inlet valve. Often it's made of translucent plastic. If one of the air-gap components deforms or cracks, you may need to replace it.

  • The tube -There's a rubber tube that runs between the water-inlet valve and either the air-gap or the inlet spout. If it cracks or breaks, it can cause a leak.

  • Inlet spout -Most washers have a plastic spout near the top of the main clothes tub that directs the water into the tub. If the spout cracks or breaks free of its mounting, it can cause a leak.

During drain and spin only A washer that leaks only during the spin cycle often has a leak in the main drain hose. Inspect the entire hose and correct any problem you find. Alternatively, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. This may be most visible during large loads and high water levels. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make. Consult a qualified appliance repair technician for further details.

All the time If the washer leaks all the time, check these:

  • Hot and cold water fill hoses - Check the hot and cold water hoses from the household plumbing. If either hose is leaking, tighten it or replace it, as appropriate.

  • Main tub seal - The main tub seal is located between the transmission and the outer tub. It's the primary water seal in the outer tub for the transmission-shaft entry point. If this seal leaks, you can see the leak by opening up the machine's main access panel while the machine is full of water with a small amount of detergent in it. The leak appears at the underside of the outer tub, at or near the center. This seal is difficult to replace. You probably should call a qualified appliance repair technician.

  • Pump - If the pump leaks, you can probably spot the leak when the tub is full of water. The pump has two or more black rubber or plastic hoses attached to it and usually has a drive belt that spins the pump. If the pump is leaking, you need to replace it.

  • Outer tub - Over time, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make. Consult a qualified appliance repair technician for further details.

Water leaking during wash cycle

I've had this problem and immediately assumed it was the door gasket. However I actually sat & watched it for a whole cycle & discovered that water was running back out from the soap dispenser area and dripping from the bottom of the washer door. I removed the dispenser tray & discovered an inch of built-up soap had accumulated inside the washer, which was not allowing the water to drain through properly. Once I removed the soap & residue, problem solved.

Hello there:
Here is a few tips that might help you out
Hope that they are very helpful for you
Best regards Mike
Washing machine is leaking Washing machine leaks are very common. There are many places a washing machine can leak from although most leaks come from the same few places. The most common cause for a leaking washing machine is the door seal. Door seals often get holes in them and water leaks down the inside of the washing machine which then runs out under the front. Water leaking down the front of the washing machine from the door can be caused by a worn door seal (the flange part that the door glass presses against when closed) or something trapped between the door seal and the door glass which breaks the seal. If the door seal doesn't look worn, or it's too young to be worn, then try cleaning the door seal's flange and the door glass on the inside of the door. Bits of cotton, un dissolved washing machine detergent etc can cause a leak.
Soap dispenser leaks
The next most common cause of a leaking washing machine is the soap dispenser. Leaking water from a soap dispenser is often caused by a blockage, or water pressure that is simply too high. Despite seeing many leaking soap dispensers, I've never seen a soap drawer with a seal, they just rely on water not getting to the front which is not really good enough. Some Hoover soap dispensers in particular, are renowned for leaking, and over the years Hoover have had to introduce modified soap dispensers twice.
Some washing machines, can flood water out of the soap dispenser when a hose gets blocked (usually with un dissolved soap powder) Indesit, and Candy, as well as some of the later Hoover washing machines suffered from this design flaw. The hose where the water is flushed down, was right at the front of the soap dispenser on these washing machines and the hose wasn't wide enough. Un dissolved powder from a tablet or lumps of detergent through poor hot water pressure can block this hose solid. (Note: water flooding out of the front of a washing machine's soap dispenser can also be an indication of overfilling or a partial pump blockage if it does it when spinning)
Finally, black gunge in the top of the soap dispenser can cause water to spray towards the front and leak. Take out the soap dispenser drawer and look at the roof of the soap dispenser. If it's covered in black gunge, blocking some of the water holes, it could be causing problems. In extreme cases I've had to replace the dispenser.
Tips for finding a leak on a washing machine
  • If you have a leaking washing machine, and you can't see where it's coming from, shove some newspaper underneath the washing machine. The slightest drop will give a clue where the water is leaking from. Pull the sheet out regularly to check for water leaks.
  • Water can run round things and drip onto other parts. Be careful with your diagnosis, as water dripping from a hose at the bottom could actually be leaking from somewhere else higher up.
  • Leaks usually leave marks, so it's possible to see something is leaking even without witnessing it. The soap suds that come out with the leaking water leave white trails. Rust is a good indicator of a water leak too. However, if you have had a previous leak cured, the "evidence" of a leak may still be present so be sure you don't blame a part that was repaired in the past.
  • If the washing machine leaks only at the end of the wash, when water is being pumped out. Make sure water isn't backing up and cascading over the top of a blocked drain pipe in the plumbing.
  • WARNING: Don't get electrocuted trying to witness a leak. It's dangerous running the washing machine with the top or back off.

Cant open soap drawer on washer

I opened up the top of the washer by unscrewing the screw in the back. then I pressed down hard on the white plastic cover of the soap dispenser that you will see on the front left hand side of the machine. I also moved it slightly to the right by pushing on the side of the same unit.

The soap dispenser then opened up fine. I cleaned out the soap dispenser from any crud that developed in it. Now it opens and closes nicely.

Did you know there is a class action lawsuit against LG for mold that develops inside of this model washer? I joined in the lawsuit. There should be no mold accumulating in any washer.

Frigidaire affinity front loading washer

Pull the top off by removing the screws on the back of the top of the washer then the top will push back and left off. From the front reach down on the left side , there is a hose that gos from the bottom of the soap dispenser the gos into the front of the drum, you should be able to pull it out of where it gos into the drum chances are there issomthing stuck in it or there in the drum where the hose gos in. Note you may have to take the screws out of the soap dispenser and push it back a little to get your arm down in there to get ahold of the hose.

Hope this helps....

Lg wm1812cw front load washer

We had the same problem- for us it was because we were mixing laundry booster (Oxyclean) with liquid soap in the dispenser. It seems the water running through the tray had insufficient pressure to properly flush the tray out, so residue accumulated on the back & underside of the tray. Our water pressure is good here, and we don't use a water softener or filters that can reduce the pressure. Unfortunately it seems to just be a bad design of the soap dispenser tray.

We also had a problem with water/bleach leaking from our soap dispenser- when we used the bleach compartment in the dispenser we got leaks dripping onto the floor from behind the front cover of the washing machine. It was running down the front of the washer behind the front cover & coming out onto the floor. The repair guy said this was because the dispenser tray was pulled out too far, but the reason we were pulling the soap tray out so far was because the bleach compartment was too far back in the tray to use if we didn't. Now we just leave the drawer partially closed & pour the bleach directly into the soap compartment along with the soap.

LG front loader problem

If you remove the top cover you will see the soap dispenser unit on the left. It has a large rubber hose connecting it to the drum. If you remove two screws at the front you can free the dispenser for maintenance. You can undo the clips on the various hoses and check that they are clean.

Some people report some dripping from the soap dispenser even when the hose is unblocked. This seems to be a design fault.

Soap dispenser drip

Normally you shut off the wall valve when you are thru with your washing. If there is a leak in the front area (important: first take the plug off the wall) open up the top of the machine and check whether the three rubber tubes are in place at the soap dispenser - one of them may have come off. Refit or replace if rubber tube is damaged; would be good to check all the tubes. Another thing would be to check that your soap dispenser is not clogged. :)

Soap dispenser slow leak

Plug off the wall socket first. Remove screws to remove the top of your machine. Check to see if the rubber hoses are connected well to the dispenser chamber, if not connect them properly. Another thing could be your dispenser drawer; you could pull it out gently to clean it; or you could even use a tooth brush for access.
