Using your disk with the new OS on it; boot the PC using that disk, when you're going through the initial setup steps, you have the option to format the drive. Formatting the drive will wipe the hard drive clean and let you start over fresh.

My ascer want restore factory restore

You may need to restore your Acer computer to its factory defaults if a virus damages operating files or if the system begins acting erratically for unknown reasons.

Restoring an Acer to factory defaults returns the computer to its original state when first purchased.

Click on the Start menu.

Then, select all programs, Acer Empowering Technology and Acer eRecovery Management.

If this is the first time you have opened the program it will prompt you to set up a password and create a backup CD.

Click the Restore button and select the option that reads "Restore system to factory defaults".

Wait for the computer to finish the restore process and reboot.

Restoring for the Boot Screen

If your computer will not boot up properly, you can attempt to reach the restore option by pressing the Alt button and the F10 button at the same time.

When the eRecovery menu appears, choose "restore system to factory defaults".

Wait for the recovery process to complete and the computer to restart.

Hope this helps

I tried unlocking my blackberry 8900 but exceeded the allowed no. of attempts how do I fix this, please help

After you exceed the maximum number of attempts it will wipe the Blackberry back to factory defaults. If you have plugged it into your computer with the Blackberry desktop app running then it should have made a backup. Restoring from a backup is the only way you can recover your data in the event of a wipe. Hopefully you have been backing it up. If so the restore is easy. Just plug in your phone and start the Blackberry desktop application. Click restore from backup and follow the instructions.

I want to unlock my bb 9700 which i wrongly typed unlock code to more than 10 times.can i still use the phone again and how do i go about it?

Yes, definitely you can still use the phone but it will be restored to it's Manufacturers settings.

Just enter the incorrect password x10 times and your Blackberry will be wiped. Your personal data will be gone, but you can then enter a new password and start again.

note:

After the 10th attempt, if you get the password wrong, it will have you type in blackberry again and it will completely wipe your Blackberry of all your personal data and it will reload itself back to factory default.

Basically, this is a security measure in case someone gets a hold of your Blackberry and attempts to break in to get your personal information. RIM Blackberry does NOT have your password, so unfortunately a RIM tech support agent cannot retrieve your password.

Hopefully you have created a backup of your Data using the Desktop Manager, so if you cannot remember your password and the device wipes itself, you can restore your data from the backup with the Desktop Manager

When i attempt to open any appkication the system takes a long time, also the sysyem takes a long time when started.

Hi,

It appears that the Computer is trying to load application during startup, I would advise a complete wipe and reset it to fatory setting, you can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction.

NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer.

Thanks and regards,
Jitha

Need to restore emachine pc to factory defaults without CD

Hi, shanettelee,

Here's what you do, do to http://www.belarc.com, and download their free analysis program. once it's loaded run it, and it will expose the unlock keys for office, as well as the operating system. There are down about mid page. Then you can download the trail version or borrow some eles's cd to reinstall it if the factory defaults aren't on the cd. Also, you can explorer the restore cd and look for offfice files, perhaps they are on the cd.

Good Luck,

Mark

Optiplex GX280 will not boot past post

Worth a shot is to put the bios flash on floppy and see if you can get it to boot from that and if you are very lucky you may be able to re-flash.

If you did take a backup on the last attempt try to get that version of the bios back in first as that was a known good bios.

Boot to safe mode by pressng F8 as soon as you start the system,
Once you are in safe mode. try to access system restore. In safe mode you will get access to the system even if it faces a severe error.

If it is complete system restore (Restore to factory defaults) which you are looking for then press ctrl+F11 as soon as you start the computer. It will wipe the entire data and restore the system to its factory settings wiping out the entire data in the system.
