hi this should be reletively easy hold the end black bit with the sivler bit holde coming out not the black bit next to the yellow case on drill you hold the black part thats at end of drill by where the bit goes into not the black bit near the trigger hope i explain this ok.
Hold this bit tight then put drill in reverse then press trigger a couple of times it might be tight but shouldnt be that tight it wont undo.
1 put in reverse
2 hold black plastic piece near where drill bit goes into
3 press trigger few times
4 this should undo it allowing you to put a bit in
make sure its in reverse else you will just tighten it up more let me know if you need further assistance ok
SOURCE: drill chuck swap
1. Turn the screw clockwise to take it out.
2. Then you needs 3/8 allen key & insert the short side of the allen key & tighten the chuck.
3. hold the drill at the edge of the table & wack the allen key
counter clockwise & do it again as needed.
4. dewalt keyless chuck will fit but you might add a washer to insure the chuck is not rubbing the clutch collar.
5. putting it back together the other way.

To remove the chuck on your drill follow the instructions for the type of drill chuck you have: Instructions for removing a keyed chuck Most reversing drills have a left hand threaded screw located inside the bottom of the chuck. 1.) If the unit has this screw place the chuck key, with the chuck facing toward you, into one of the holes on the right side of the chuck. Strike the key in a clockwise direction with a wooden mallet or similar object. This will loosen the screw inside the chuck. 2.) Open chuck jaws fully. Insert screwdriver into the bottom of the chuck to engage screw head. Remove screw by turning clockwise this is a left-hand screw. 3.) With the chuck facing toward you place the key into one of the holes on the left side of the chuck. Using a wooden mallet or similar object, strike the key sharply in a counter-clockwise direction. This will loosen the chuck so that it may be unscrewed by hand. There is no way to stop the motor from turning. It may require several attempts to loosen the chuck Instructions for removing a keyless chuck Most reversing drills have a left hand threaded screw located inside the bottom of the chuck. 1.) Insert the short end of a 1/4" or larger hex Allen wrench into the chuck and tighten. Facing the tool strike the long end of the hex wrench sharply counter clockwise as it is a standard right hand thread. This will loosen the chuck so that it may be unscrewed by hand. Tighten the chuck around the shorter end of a hex key (not supplied) of 1/4" (6.4mm) or greater size. 2.) Using a soft hammer, strike key sharply in a counterclockwise direction (when viewed from the front of the tool). This will loosen the chuck so that it can be unscrewed by hand.
