These speakers have a bad reputation because there are scammers out there trying to sell them for more than thier worth cause the unit itself looks like it should be worth a lot ... however i say that to say I have a pair of these speakers I was given too me for free and I’ve been using them for over 5 years and they sound great the average music listener won’t know the difference especially in this ear bud era we live in ... someone mentioned these have no bass ... I personally only have 2 of the 3 speakers wired up ... I never wired up the sub cause I never needed too ... when I turn these speakers up I thump the whole block I live on ... these speakers produce plenty of bass without the sub active ... one day I’ll hook the sub and then I’ll prob find out it doesn’t work lol but if the subwoofers do work! These are good speakers for Someone on a budget who wants big sound and a good looking speaker box .... but if it doesn’t like I said it’s ok cause it produces more than enough bass with out it and I listen to hip hop! Maybe it may not be too great for those who want a more crisp sound but if you’re an 90s analog guy like myself these speakers do the job just don’t get ripped off and pay 100s for it ... I say @ the most they are @least worth $300 for the pair ... especially if the subwoofer works

SOURCE: No SOund for my TR-2810 Theater Research System

Easy sound check, if you have two other known working speakers connect them to see if you get any sound. If you dont then its either the wire is Bad or possible bad connection on the amplifier speaker outs. Confirm connections are properly placed. Try again with test speaker. Basically just verify the known so the unknown can be uncovered, metaphorically speaking. Do this and you will be one with the speakers. Muawhahahaa!!!

Not to look down upon your speakers, however realize these are those junk ones getting sold out of vans in home dopot parking lots throughout the country or at least in my neck of the woods. I was approached by one of these cheap speaker selling vans a few years back. In fact I have a friend who had some of these sitting in his living room. Said they were an old roommate's speakers. I said let's give these shitz a listen and boy did they stink. All I remeber was asking if the bass was up. This was an onkio amp and said yes and they sounded like crud. Unplugged and disconnected within minutes. Garbage!!

In summary do your research before purchasing, question the unquestionable before believing anything. This reads beyond speakers. Best of wishes.......

SOURCE: cuoul i replace the tweeter with any 1 inch

Providing you match the power and ohm rating of the acoustic tweeter yes. You could of course have an higher rms/watts rating than the original, but not lower. The ohm though must be the same. The only thing that might happen is that it might sound different to the other speaker, as the tweeter sound quality could be better or worse than the acoustic. Of course you could buy two and replace the other speaker one too!

There are 2 wires from crossover to Acoustic Research Phantom 8.3 Titanium Tweeters. One wire is Brown, other Green. Tweeters have one terminal marked with red paint. Some of my speakers have Brown wire...

Normally Speaker and Amp side will mark correctly the polarity. If wrongly connect phase may get wrong. If you understand or may know the different by hearing, if both tweeter phase is wrongly connect, what need to do is reverse the connection of one side the phase will change. you can try which give you the best listening feeling.

What type of cable do i need to hook up my speakers and if i need an amplifier too and what kind or type? theater research TR 2810

A strand copper cable in clean condition, a guage from 10-16AWG will suffice. Choose a solid state amplifier with a high damping factor, preferably no less than 100 and able to operate with low distortion with up to 100 watt loads.

I see that these have a side firing driver so keep in mind there placement distance from side walls; going too close may give a bloomy or boomy sound.

No sound from one tweeter

Could be an open capacitor in the cross-over, unconnected wire to the tweeter (not likely) or a blown (open) voicecoil in the tweeter. Remove the tweeter and with a 9 volt battery (even run down but not dead will work) quickly touch it to the connections to the tweeter - it should pop and crackle. No static, the tweeter has sung it's last song.
