SOURCE: projection lamp burn out
Projection TV makers charge an arm and a leg for their replacement
lamps. They make it easy to do but as a result the custom lamp
assy is expensive. The trick is to just buy the bulb for your
model TV from any number of us aftermarket sources at a fraction of the
lamp price and install it in the old lamp yourself. really
easy. Some models are real bulb hogs though. Look them up
on the net (include the word complaint or repair) before you buy, or
you might be sorry. Many class action lawsuits out there - even
against some of the name brand makers.
Hope ya fix it!

RedRacer guy, you are awesome! I had the same problem as the 2 other people with this issue. I did the reset on the "reset all" on the ethernet connection not expecting this to do anything and as I exited this, the TV came on!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Yes, the lamp will gradually get darker as it nears it's end. The rolling lines sounds more like the set is on a local channel for the cable hook up. If your local area has a channel 3 or 4 live terestrial broadcast simply tune the cable box output to the other one, the same for the tv.
If this is cable/local broadcast issue it will go away in Febuary when the NTSC broadcast ends.
