Screen Half darker

Half upper side is darker than the half lower side.
When I change my viewing angle, in this case higher, it is better but the ratio is still the same, half of the screen is darker.

It sounds like your backlight isn't working properly. LCD screens have backlights that illuminate the colors produced upon their surfaces, so that you can easily see the screen without an external light source. In your case, it sounds like your backlights either aren't cailbrated, are damaged, or were produced unevenly.

There is most likely not a fix for this, though most all LCD screens have some form of light distortion. My own LCD screen is slightly brighter around the edges, where the backlights are located, but this is only noticeable when displaying a completely black screen.

Try also resetting the your monitor back to factory settings from the forteManager software that comes with it. It's under Options, Restore. I had a similar problem and this fixed it for mine.

Sony bravia kdl-40s2010 top half of screen is fading

Most sets use two boards (each drives the image on half the screen) some combine both into a single larger board but if a even half of the screen is doing something the other half is not that is where the problem likely is.

Different makers use different names for this like T-Con or Y out etc.

You if interested might Google the model number with "parts" which may provide you a list of the boards in this set along with prices in some cases.

When viewed at an angle my lcd screen looks like a negative - is there anything I can do?

Unless this is some new behaviour of your TV, this is something totally normal, it's a common problem that is inherent to the Lcd technology, there is nothing you can do here.
Some TV have a better Viewing angle than others and it is getting better with every new screen generation.
On some model you can have a "Magic Angle option" but it is just for vertical angles - If for example you are looking at your TV from a lower or higher point of view.

Hope this helps

PANASONIC TH-42PX60U 42 - half of screen not working

I had the same issue. I am going to replace my scan buffer boards. The upper half of mine works but the lower half is black so I would replace the lower Scan buffer board but in case of future issues I have ordered both upper and lower for $44.
The scan buffer boards are fairly simple to locate. Open up back of tv there are two biffer boards identical. The item or product code on them contain letters either SU or SD (Scan up and Scan down)Look up tv parts and item code you will find a place to order or just get the 1 800 number from tv manufacturer.

Upper half of screen is darker than the lower half

Hi,
Its back light in LCD Panel problem, there are approx 20 CCFLs in 40" lcd panel and one or two in upper half is not providing enough light to give proper brightness so you see bit darker image.
As per Sony policy, lcd panel will be replaced to fix this issue and local tech can fix it on component level (replacing bad ccfl) if he/she agrees because its risky work.
Hope this nfo will help you.

Upper half of the monitor is darker

I would try an auto-adjust first see if that helps any, also you could try it on another PC to make sure its not your video card on your PC. Another option is to reset the screen to its factory defaults see if that does anything.

Yellow area on screen

either burn in or magnetic field interference. I suggest moving any speakers away from the tv. if thats not the case, then find a strong magnet, make sweeping motions across the screen with it but dont touch the screen! Keep doing this until the colors change, then "sweep" them with the magnet into a corner and they will mostly dissapea.......r, sounds complicated but worked for me. can be scary so dont try unless sickly despearate or confident.   Hope This helps!
