2006 Chevy Uplander. The power sliding doors won't shut

2006 Chevy Uplander. The power sliding doors open but I can not get tehm to close. They slide to close but when they go to latch, it slides back open. The other day it took me 30 minutes to get the door to stay shut and that was with locking the power feature. Is there any way to bi-pass the power feature where it won't chime the entire time?

2 possible solutions. First clean the door pin contacts(multiple spring loaded pins on door side and matching plate on body) with a scotch pad until shiny gold color again. Second the rear edge of the door should be 1mm inside the body opening when closed. If those are correct it is going to take a software download from a dealer to the door control module to fix this. Otherwise you will have to pull the psd fuse and breaker from the right side dash fuse box.

I am having a similar issue. Will pulling the fuse drain the battery?

Two ways to stop the doors opening on there own.one quick fix is to just put the child safty on the inside of the door to " LOCK ".The door will now only open if the outside handle is pulled. to better fix the problem both the end of the pins on the inside of the door and the plates on the door jam need to be cleaned of oxidation. DO NOT USE a harsh emery cloth or sandpaper to do this, this will cause the problem to reoccur very quickly.instead use something like a MR CLEAN MAJIC ERASRE to lightly polish the serface's clean then put a small dab of anti-oxident electrical contact paste(any electrical store will sell this its the stuff that stops electrical wires from oxidising) on the end of the pins .when the car was new it had this on there but over time it gets washed off and oxidation sets in,then you take it to the dealer who trys to clean it up but scratchs up the serface so bad that the pins cant get a good contact and because there is no paste on the plates oxidation sets in to the serface twice as fast as before.....Back to the dealer again....follow this simple fix and your doors will work just fine....DONT SKIP THE PASTE.

I removed the rubber molding (it is only there for aesthetic purposes only...as I asked the dealership), and have not had any problems since.

There should be a switch on the upper console to turn off power sliding doors. check to make sure there is nothing (including dirt build-up) in the bottom track. also make sure the brass points on the jamb are clean

Door chime on 2007 chevy uplander will not stop even when the door is closed properly. Is there anyway to disable it without disabling radio

Had this problem for some time. I have had the dealer replace motor etc. Problem still returns. Noticed that the foam seal around the right side door has started flatening out over time and was beginning to spill into the lipped plate that the door sensor buttons possibly could be prevented from making proper contact. Trimmed approx. 3/8 of an inch off the foam in the area of the plate, and the problem seems to have gone away. Hope this helps.

The sliding door on 2006 chevy uplander will not close just started happening today the back hook looks off not like the one on the other door

Remove the rubber seal at the bottom of the door. It is ONLY there for aesthetic purposes (I asked the dealership). They said that is common and this is what they do to fix the problem.

Power sliding door will not stay closed. once activated the door goes to the closed position then opens back up. how can this be corrected.

Option 1: where the metal contacts on the door meet the metal contacts on the panel, take a high-grit sandpaper and sand those contacts.
Option 2: ensure that there isn't any debris in the tracks that the doors slide on, both on top and the bottom. The vehicle is equipped with a safety sensor that won't allow it to close if something is in its path.
Also check the weather seals around the door for damage.

Chevy Uplander (2006) when sliding doors are closed and then van is put into reverse or drive, chimes begin nonstop inside of car. How do i stop them???

One or more of your sliding door may have lost their learned opened/closed position. Also the door may be binding, obstructed or need a latch adjustment. If a relearn is required return to a GM dealership as a diagnostic scan tool is required.

The door chime on our 2005 Saturn Relay Van continuously goes off when you put it in gear. There are no obstructions but the automatic door switch fails to open the door sometimes and other times the chime...

I have a 2006 SV6 with the power sliding doors. The problem that I found was with the contacts on the door ( They are called plungers) the movable pins were losing connection with the fixed part The plunger is very easy to replace if you can find one. The plungers are covered with a rubber cover and is held in place with 2 plastic pins. My Pontiac dealer could not even find one in his books or even a picture of one, and claimed that he had never had anyone come with a door problem. My Chevy dealer said that it came with a wiring harness that is not needed for $154. The cure that I came up with was to take the plunger block apart (it snaps together)and replace the rusted out springs then solder 3" wires to the end of the plunger pins (they solder easy) to the tabs that go to the plug(pop out the tabs or you will melt the plastic. It took about 45 min. now the doors work like new and will never loose contact again

Chevy uplander 2005 and there is a constant beeping that will not go away its constant ..it has to do with the sliding passenger door they say but how do i fix it?

That happens to me all the time!! I just pull over, put it in park, open both sliding doors halfway then close them. This always gets rid of the problem. It's happening because one of the doors isn't catching correctly when it closes and once u hit a bump or anything you will here the dinging.
