The tv will turn on then it will go blank ?

You should have manual buttons on the tv itself to control input and volume. It appears it is defaulting to antenna channel 3 and low volume when first powered on. You can buy universal remotes to control your set.

check signal may be you dont have one on the input

Convergence failure. You can get the convergence repair kit for your model at www.tvrepairworld.com which contains the parts and the CD with repair instructions.

Try draining the flea power first:

1. Remove the battery and ac adapter
2. Press and hold the power button for at least 10sec.
3. Put back the battery and ac adapter
4. Turn on the computer

Check if it will load to windows, if not, there could be a problem with windows. Try startup repair on advanced boot options. Hope this helps.

is the tv decoding from a smartcard ? if so then the tv needs to render picture.

thats called PIP aka picture in picture on your remote theres a way to turn it off or change the chanel of it what it is its like another tv but with no sound and you see another chanel or video input on it and you can switch it on the remote

I have sound from dvd player but no sound when I have just tv on

i had prob where my sony would switch off for a few secs thenh come back on . The solution was in menu / tv settings / sleep timer . Go into that and make sure its set to off. there are opions for off , 5 min 20 min 30 min etc... mine was set to nothing just blank.

What channel is it and when they tune in that channel, is the picture nice and clear or is it grainy and snowy before the screen goes blue? On some sets, if the signal is weak, the picture will go blue. This is called Blue Screen and is there so you do not see very poor, grainy and snowy pictures. Some sets will have an option in the menu to turn the blue screen off.
