How to turn off subtitles on DVD?
Subtitles can be turned on or off by pressing the SUBTITLE button on the remote control while the disc is playing. NOTE: Not all discs have subtitles. Make sure that the packaging of the disc specifies that it has subtitles.

So I have tried going through the custom menu to turn off subtitles and also from the remote and nothing is working. I even tried switching to Dutch as suggested and english was the language display and french was spoken. I have tried to turn off subtitles with the subtitle button on the remote but when I select off and push enter they are still on. Help please this is very frustrating. I have tried 2 different movies and still the same result.
If you already name the subtitle file (.srt) with the same name of movie file (avi, mpeg, mkv etc) all you have to do is press green button on the remote control the turn on/off the subtitle. It works for me.
Hi,
The Subtitle option is available only with the connected devices like DVD Player, Blu-ray Disc Player etc. The option avaialble in the TV is known as Closed Caption. The Closed caption option can be turned off by selecting the options below:
Press Menu button on the TV Remote.
Select, Setup settings.
Then select Caption Vision option to OFF.
This option is for turning off the Closed Caption option in the TV to OFF. For disabling the Subtitle option in the connected devices like DVD Player and Blu-ray Disc Player, press the SUBTITLE button on the supplied Remote continuously to select OFF.
In few of the TV broadcasting channels the Subtitles cannot be turned OFF as this is being broadcasted with the channels.
Good Luck!

Try the program Sub2Divx (I have the same DVD sony dvp-ns67p worked properly).
It takes just 2 minutes to put the subtitle in divx and is not fixed, only appears when tight subtitle on the remote control.
I have a link to a tutorial but it is in Portuguese.
