Installed comcast cable box to emerson flat screen tv. it is hdmi, 1080. now i don't have a full screen picture.

Try using the wide mode. There are multiple screens you can get such as wide, zoom, full, and wide zoom. Go through these til you get the picture you want.

I have no remote for tv and picture I get is not full screen. How do I use menu to get full screen picture?

Comcast remotes generally do not allow you to use the menu option for your TV. Check the Dynex website by entering your model number to find the manual for your tv.

I have a samsung 1080 full hd 38" flat screen tv,

I think the backlight is failing, you will need to have it replaced. It is also possible that the backlight inverter (power supply) may be faulty but that usually shows up a fault. I think it unlikely that the screen itself has failed unless it has been subjected to pressure damage.
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.

Cannot get full picture on the screen

Hi Mic,

Can't get full picture ?
If this is for running a dvd if it is not a
full screen version of the dvd then you
will not get it.
If it is widescreen addition you will get the
black bars at the top and bottom.

If you can't get full screen in normal mode a
few things could cause this.
One if your running from your "say" direct tv box.
You will need to try your Format button...second
button on the left of the remote.
Second you could try the restore settings on your
tv, it will restore the settings to the manufacturer's
original settings.
Keep in mind that not all tv channels are full screen.
Example: If I watch nfl gameday in HD it is full screen.
If I select the same program but, not in HD the screen
is smaller. thing it goes to a 4:3 aspect ration..
Switch back to HD and it's full screen again.

hope this helps some.

How do you make the screen full size? It is full screen on the digital channels, however on basic cable channels it is not full screen size.

1. use the zoom/strech feature in your menu or on your remote.

The issue here is LOW def and it comes in at a smaller resolution witch is normal.

you just need to use the streatch/zoom feature,

Thanks

Check if you have the full power voltage in your home. You should have a full screen if voltage is

Full screen view

in order to get the full HD experience you should be using HDMI cables. if you're using the white/red/yellow cables then your HD channels will not broadcast in full HD and you'll be stuck with the annoying black things around your screen
