I plugged the TV in again and then I heard a loud pop. I then figured that was it for that one. I proceeded to recycle it.

The 24vdc is turn on by the signal from the main logic board, it is not always on, the standby 5vdc is always on. So yes it can be the power supply board is bad, but just to besure we need to find out if it is getting the turn on signal from the main board first.
You can have 24vdc at the inverter board and it will not light up the CCFL until it gets the signal from the main logic board to turn the lamps on (this is the STANDBY condition, the TV is on but the screen in not lit up util it see the video signal).
Send me good clean and clear pictures of the power supply board, [email protected], connectors of the Power supply, bottom side of the board, then I may be able to tell you which pin is a control input pin. Most people will just throwing parts in and hope that they one of the parts will fix the problem. Used Power supply module for this TV is over $100. http://www.google.com/products?rlz=1T4GGIH_enUS282US283&q=delta+DPS-379AP&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=USsxTKn3J6TonQfFlJGEBA&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=title&resnum=4&ved=0CCsQrQQwAw

Yes it does sound like the mainboard. But we have to confirm. I will see if there is a service manual for this unit in my collection but do you think you can safely work on it? Have you worked on electronics before? The last thing I want is you hurting yourself trying to fix it. HV circuits are not to be messed with unless you know about them.

The 5vdc standby is working but not the 12 or 24v?
You need to find out if the power supply board is getting PS_ON signal from the main board to turn on the 12/24vdc power supply section.

Hello there

Actually that problem is very common on all LCD TV,, that problem is cause of either inverter board or t-con..

In this case you don't need to check the voltage that is too complicated for you,,only visual check is enough..

I share you my tricks and hope it helps..

Power on your TV turn off your lights..if you will see the light comes from the screen the problem is t-con..if no light the problem is inverter board (backlight) board

Hope it helps..

I would like to know the procedure to reset this TV because what it does as the power cord is plugged in the relay click and the power light comes on and then the relay clicks on and off until theOPC light...

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

Turned it off, now it wont turn on, can hear relay click when pressing power button, power LED on front is always on, no picture no sound, if I unplug for 30 mins, when I plug it back in I believe I can...

Good day!!!!

If you hear a clicking sounds of relay inside that means your TV have a voltage on the power supply section. However, when the high voltage attempt to switch the voltage will dropping down and the TV won't turn ON that,s why you hear a HV (high voltage) charge or what we call HV (high voltage) oscillation..

That problem is commonly cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply section..You can easily identify the bad capacitors if it is look like bulged/dome or sometimes leak in oil but not all faulty capacitors have an obvious indication like that because sometimes faulty capacitors look like good but the actual capacitance value change its either lower or higher than the original capacitance value. In that case you a special tester called capacitance meter to identify the faulty capacitors..

This is the sample image of bulged/dome capacitors.
1_14_2012_4_49_41_pm.jpeg

Please let me know if you found any bulged capacitors on the board..If that so kindly replace it only with same type, ratings and value..You can buy it locally or online and if you want sir I'll be the one search it online just give me the value ex.2200uf/50v. uf-means microfarad and v is for voltage..

If you can't find any bulged capacitors let me know, maybe that is time to proceed for advance troubleshooting. In that case you will need a multimeter tester for voltage checking..in this stage you need a moderate technical skills to perform this kind of troubleshooting this stage not advisable for the non-pro so let me know if you have any electronic background..If you don't have electronic background as much as possible I can't advice that because its too dangerous..I can diagnose the problem base on what you see and observation..

Just keep on touch!!!!

Hope it helps..

Tv with no picture. i just bought a new bulb but still flashing lamp and no picture.I can hear it click on but thats all

Hello,

since you didn't get any picture, does the TV bring out sound? If the TV does not bring out sound, then it means the TV is having a power problem.

The clicking sound most of the time indicates a bulged capacitor on the power supply board of the TV. I think problem is with the power supply board and not the bulb.

But more often bad capacitors causes problem on the power supply board. I do not think the power board needs replacement, rather those defective capacitors is causing this issue. Open unit up and take a look at the power supply board. You will probably see one or more electrolytic filter capacitors that are bulged up in the top-not perfectly flat like the others.

The value of these capacitors will be different, most likely they will be somewhere around-820 to 2200uF/25 V( or /10V sometimes)

You can replace them with same values but I would recommend the voltage rating to be higher(like 35V for an original 25V) for reliability purposes.

What happens is,these bulged top capacitors will cause a low and unfiltered DC voltage=main board will malfunction(the relay will keep clicking until the caps are holding enough charge to bring the voltage up over a threshold point).

You can buy these capacitors at any Fry's or Radioshack store or you can order them online at vendors like "mcmelectronics.com"(look for electrolytic capacitors). After replacing these capacitor(capacitors) most likely the normal operation will be restored. Or you can by a refurbished complete power board to save you some stress from www.shopjimmy.com.

Note: There may be also some other causes for this symptom ,like a defective T con board ,or main board, but the bulged top capacitors are the most common cause for this issue.

If you don't know about TV repairers, take the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you. Also, note that TV stores a lot of current, so wait a while before opening the TV back cover.

I hope this helps.

Regards.

Last time turned on tv picture flashed and went dead, Now when I turn it on it makes its normal clicking sound but does nothing. no power light or sound black screen, set is rarely used. Only thing it does...

Sir this problem is commonly caused by bulging capacitor or loosed connection, if you remove the back cover be sure to unplug the unit. Bulging capacitor is producing a low and unfiltered DC supply, one of the sign is the clicking noise you hear came from the relay. Or try to tap the side of your tv and observe if the tv will react. ekcnoel_9.jpg

This a bad capacitor ekcnoel_8.jpeg
this is the loosed or dry joint it is much better if you use a magnifying glass to determine the loosed or dry solder. Good day and best regards.
