SOURCE: how to remove bios password for Toshiba Satellite A200

If you know the current password, use it to enter BIOS SETUP.
Then, type a "blank" ("space-bar") as the "new" password.

If you don't know the current password, you're stuck;
this is a "security" feature to prevent a stolen laptop from being used by the thief.

SOURCE: toshiba a120 bios password

It cannot be removed using software.

To remove the password you will have to remove the CMOS battery located on the lower side of the motherboard.

To access the battery the computer must be disassembled completely.

SOURCE: How can remove BIOS password

These ppl have no idea how a laptop is built. There are no CMOS jumpars in a laptop, the only way to remove cmos password in a laptop is to use special software, hard to get and use because most laptops do not have floppy drives anymore, so the best way to do it is to dissassemble the laptop and desolder the battery for the cmos memory, one leg will do, wait 5 min then resolder it back. You may have figured out this is NOT for 98% of laptop owners, but a good repair shop and someone who really knows how to work on a laptop can do it in thier sleep.

SOURCE: how i can remove Bios password from Toshiba

The BIOS password is removed by the BIOS configuration, you need the BIOS password to get into the BIOS configuration.
But if you do not have the BIOS password then you need to construct this dongle device.

TOSHIBA BIOS PASSWORD DONGLE

You can build a dongle that plugs into the printer port.
Purchase a 25 pin male D sub connector and solder insulated wires to the various pins as listed below. The pins are numbered on the connector

http://www.tilman.de/sonstiges/toshiba/dongle1.jpg this is a picture of the finished dongle

Wire the pins as follows :-
1-5-10,
2-11,
3-17,
4-12,
6-16,
7-13,
8-14,
9-15

Plug the finished dongle in the printer port and power up the laptop. The password will be reset, go into the BIOS configuration to check the BIOS password, you may have to disable the BIOS password.

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS you can load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults ,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart

Need to see location of cmos battery on a toshiba satellite l505d

It's soldered to the bottom of the motherboard,

Scroll down to Step 23 , and click on the photo.

Main article,

NOTE*
You will be unsoldering a solder connection on a BATTERY.
Need to be good, or the battery could bl-ow up.

Make SURE you have no Static on your body, OR use an ESD wrist strap, and connect the alligator clip to a Good ground source. (Average cost is around $3 to $6)

I hope this is because the laptop will not keep the time, and date.
You CANNOT reset a BIOS password this way.

Toshiba's have a small capacitor in line, that stores a small residual amount of power. Enough to keep that BIOS password set, even if the CMOS battery is taken out for days, weeks, or months.

There are two SMALL copper pads that are shorted out BRIEFLY, with a jumper wire.

Toshiba satellite l505d-s5007 Toshiba satellite l505d-s5007 laptop. Need jumper or dipswitch identification to short out or switch to the bios password.

I don't think that's available on laptops; I've never seen it on Toshiba models. There is usually a small battery to save BIOS info and keep the clock going when the main battery is out. It's either under the keyboard or near the memory or wireless card compartment. Remove the main battery and leave the adapter unplugged. Open the compartments and look for a a connector with just a red and black wire connected to it - if you see it going to a coin cell, that's the one you want. Unplug it and wait ten seconds. Plug it in and put everything back together. If you got the right connector, your computer will probably go straight to BIOS and ask you to set the time and date.

unplug laptop and remove battery. Take out both memory sticks and locate on the motherboard under sticks two points marked with ***. Replace one memory stick, plug ac adapter back up and while jumping the two points at the *** (use paperclip, flathead screwdriver or other metal object to connect the points) power up computer. This, if done properly, will reset bios, removing password.
