That's a pretty broad question. Is it the cable, is it the female end on the back of the tv? If it's on the tv side of things then you'll need to open up the tv and check connections to the HDMI port. If all is good, replacing just the port is an option. It should have a part # on it if you want to be certain it has the same connection to your tv. I suspect they're almost all the same, I've only seen a few from a couple tv brands.

yes you can replace the input board, but that is fairly expensive. HDMI cables can go bad, have you tried a different HDMI cable? Also try hooking up another device to the HDMI input to see if it might be in the Playstation3.

60GB PS3 had been hit by a power surge. HDMI not working.

hook up the ps3 thru the regular yellow composite and HDMI. Go into the settings and change the output to HDMI and then see if you can get video thru the HDMI, if you don't then the mainboard is bad and you would have to send it to Sony unless you can get your hands on another broken sony ps3 with a good main board.

Simular Problem

HDMI must be hooked directly to the TV and optical or digital coaxial to the receiver. Your receiver has 1.1, 1.2 or 1.2a HDMI firmware and hardware. There is no fix for this issue w/out a new receiver that has 1.3b firmware. All receivers on the market have this issue, not just Onkyo. HDMI comes directly from HDMI. And there customer support !@#$%^&*()!!! Sorry for the bad news! but that's the fix. Hope this helps.

check with another source or cable. you likely have a bad hdmi input, this would require a new SSB module to fix.

My cable box doesnt recognise my hd tv when i hook up the 2 with an hdmi cable

Check operations manual for HDMI hook up. Some cab/box have to be switched from menu. If you can't use HDMI, use component cables instead, there's not much difference in picture quality. Possible bad HDMI cable
