5100 HP Desktop printer--magenta ink comes out pink not red (right out of sealed package!)

magenta is just a fancy name for pink.... its usually a darker shade of pink not overly dark but not a bright pink that most associate with the color.
most hp printers use the ckmy color format as opposed to the rgb that most are used to. check your other ink levels to ensure that they are at least half full and when you print out a doc or pic requiring red, the other inks will assist in creating the proper shade

Most of the pictures I take with the T200 have a pink shadow and anything white has a pink shade to it.

It's a faulty CCD or loose connection between the CCD and main board. Contact your local Sony service center or if they ask too much, feel free to contact me at [email protected]
I work in a Sony service center.

Pink pictures

Make sure the white balance is set to "auto." Try going outside into shade and taking a picture of a white piece of paper, and see if that has a color cast.

If it does, follow the instructions in your camera's manual to set up a "custom white balance," and see if that helps. If the camera is newish, Canon might fix it under warranty, too.

Optio S40 white objects are pink

Sounds as though the white balance is off, check your manual on how to alter the white balance to manual - then change it back to auto. It should fix it.

Dgs 100

If the pink & white pics are a small percentage of your photos you should probably just live with it. I have 6 cameras in operation for 2 yrs & they have about 10% like this. Great pics otherwise. Probably caused by the angle of the sun or reflection of the flash off a nearby object.

Power shot s410

Check the white balance settings. Make sure it is on Auto.
Check the the lens is clean and not covered with pink dust.

If that doesn't solve the problem, post a smaple picture here that you take following these instructions:

1. Choose a scene that has several object (not a blank wall).
2. Place the camera outdoor in daytime on a sturdy surface.
3. Set the self timer and press the shutter button.

This setup should nullify blur caused by camera shake and color distortion of artificial lighting.
