yeah.even i cant take any picture.the screen is not very clear.it makes a weird sound when i switch on the camera.

  • Harrie May 13, 2014

I hope the weird sound does not come from a motor, that tries to move a lens or so. Because that could mean something mechanical is defect. Can't you visit a photo shop, and ask a salesman what he thinks of this?

Do you mean when you press the shutter release button, oohing happens?
Are you sure you are giving the camera enough time to focus, before you press the button complete?
Normaly, you have to press the button half way, and wait till the camera is focused. The camera will give an audio or a visual signal. Then press the button complete.
Be patient. Point an shoot camera's sometimes need more than a second to focus.
It is not like in the old days, every time you pressed the shutter release button the camera fired.

Shutter Curtain Doesnt Reset Mirror

If your shutter curtain doesnt close, it may be out of Sync with the shutter button. My Minolta x700 had this problem. My camera guy fixed it for me with a couple of tinker moves. Contact your nearest camera repair shop (if available) and ask how much it would be to fix the Sync between depressing the shutter button and the curtain. it may just be some grime that has it stuck.

The shutter is stuck closed - i also would like to set camera to original standard settings

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras, especially for the S2 IS. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

When i take it to develop film cames back the shutter not closing or opening ? on pic onit at all

I would check the shutter by:

1) open the film door
2) While looking into the camera, press the shutter button.

The shutter should open and then close. If the shutter doesn't open and then close, it could be stuck and my require professional help.

Shutter appears to be stuck closed.

Theirs oil on the shutter blades causing it to stay closed, Thats why you can't see though the lens or the viewfinder also, This comes from the grease from the zoom assy, It's a major job to fix it, Has to be fixed by a repair shop

Shutter wont close

Try setting the shutter to B and see if you can trip the shutter. If no go then it has mechanical problem. If it works on B but not on other shutter speeds, you have electronic problems.

When i turn on the camera the shutter closes, when I turn it off, the shutter opens

I dropped the camera and now the shutter opens when turning off & closes when I open the camera. But when it is open, the shutter will open a bit making it impossible to take pictures. What should I do or where do I take it for repairs?

Lines on screen and photos, too bright photos outside

Lines across your pictures or pictures too bright are due to the shutter not closing correctly or at all.
to check this- turn camera on, turn off flash, turn camera around and look into the lens. Adjust the zoom so that the shutter and internal lens comes up to the end of the lens and whatch as you take a picture. You should see the shutter close completely over the lens. If it doesn't move or does not close over completely then there is your problem.
If camera was dropped it could have jammed the shutter open or obstructed it in some way from closing completely.
camera will require repair/ service.
You may have some luck if you power up and down your camera numerous times before taking a picture. The action of the lens opening and closing may free the shutter.

My son pulled out one of the shutters that opens and closes over the lens. The shutters no longer open all the way. The camera is brand new. How can I fix the rest of the shutters? Should I pull them...

You can pull off the other one if you want. To put it back in your basically going to have to take apart the camera. The "Shutters" on the outside is nothing more but to protect the lens will its in the camera. The actual shutter is inside the lens that open and closes very quickly when you take a picture.

Think of it this way, the shutter in the lens opens up to let in light that shows the image to the sensor behind the lens. Then it closes to "finish" capturing the light".

The "shutters" or "doors" on the outside do not move once you take a picture. They only close once the lens retract. (When the camera is turned off or idles)

Hope this has been helpful.

Shutter stays closed on bronica 645 etr medium format

Have the electronic shutter checked by a repair shop. Sounds like your Seiko electronic shutter has died or there's a short somewhere between shutter and lens. Hope this helps.
