The most likely probable causes of the 'red standby light only - no other function' problem would be the flyback transformer/horizontal output transistor or a shorted component on the HT rail, which derives most of its voltages from the power supply so check this area as well.
If the power supply checks out all OK, I would advise replacing the horizontal output transistor and flyback transformer.
Be sure to get the correct transformer type for your model when replacing it, as each one has different characteristics (including voltage rating and EHT output) in relation to the picture tubes they are connected to. Some may have focus and screen controls as part of the transformer itself, while others will have this as a separate part.
