If you mean by "50", Device Error 50, make sure the cable is firmly connected between the main motor and the Mother PBA (CN3), between the Mother PBA (CN24) and the Main PBA (CN12). Otherwise, replace in this order: 1. Main motor. 2. Main PBA 3. Mother PBA.
The Uverse service appears to be all digital - so any voice/phone channels are going to be VOIP....not real analog lines as you had before. So, you need to connect the HP fax to a phone line service. Did ATT provide you a phone number? (or perhaps 2 phone numbers) Then the fax should be connected to that line. If you are unsure, then connect a phone to the provided line and listen for dial tone. If you are connecting a fax to a VOIP line then a good suggestion is to drop the fax speed to 9600....this will provide more reliable connections. Hope this helps
Make sure your VoIP system has been adjusted for optimum fax transmission. VoIP doesn't do very well with fax, most providers much change the Codec to support fax (eg. t.38 ) http://www.getfaxing.com/winfax
is your phone line working perfectly? You may also need to check if there is an option for changing the status of the machine from test to working status.
If you are not getting any kind a jam indication on your end then it is most likely a phone line noise issue causing the transmission to fail. One thing you can try is turn off the ECM setting on your machine. This stands for error correction mode. If you have your manual you should find it there. ECM is the cause for most failures of the type you are describing.
the number is busy. Try pressing the monitor button and listening for a dial tone. No dial tone means your phone line is not working. If you have dial tone, dial the number you wish to fax and listen to see if it picks up. If you get a busy signal, or hear someone answer, that is why it's not working. If you hear the fax tones, press start and send your document. This is a way to fax that allows you to hear the whole process.
