Did you try to reinstall the complete easy share software from Kodak? Just a driver is not enough. The software is on the cd that came with the camera,. Or you could try to download it from the Kodak site. I think your camera has to be registered, but you could do that if they ask. If that does not work, you could install photoshop elements or gimp.
your computer needs the software, not only a driver.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

I was using kodak easy share to download my pictures and now that it is no longer i need to know how to use the share button

You still can use easy share. (I still have it) The share button, you use on the camera, to mark a picture you want to share. With the button, you tag the picture, you then later can share in the Kodak community. Not sure that still exists Check out on http://kodak.photonet.com

PNY optima sdhchd 8gb won't read in my Kodak easy

What model Kodak EasyShare camera? Some of them only work with SD cards, not with SDHC cards. The same applies to kiosks. Make sure the slot is marked "SDHC' and not simply "SD".

The best way to install is to visit Kodak.com and download the latest version of the software that was developed for your new computer's OS. As always with Kodak, it's a free download.
