Tablet PC "seeing" networks, but not connecting

Aaargghhh... I have a Toshiba tablet PC (Portege 3505) that I've given my teenage daughter (I got a new one for my company). It had been working with our wireless network at home, no problems. It just stopped working, although my IBM Thinkpad and my other daughter's Mac has no issues connecting.

The wireless radio light on the front panel is orange, although I made sure the switch on the side is pushed toward the "on" side. The Toshiba "sees" other networks, it just won't let me connect to them. I've made sure the WEP code is correct for our home network.

When I tried to release/renew the ip address, the message said the wireless media is disconnected. I've pressed FN+F8 (I thought maybe that was the radio on/off). No luck.

What am I missing - she is talkiing to colleges via email, will be traveling and needs to take this with her - she's in a bind!

Thanks, in advance.

The first thing I would do is install is a PCMCIA wireless card. If you are able to log in to your network with the PCMCIA wireless card, I would be leaning towards replacing your internal wireless card.
Hope that helps.....

I have a toshiba portege model 3505 that has a password at bois i cant remember my password how do i get in to my bois

That BIOS-password exists to protect you, should a thief gain posssession of your computer.

Find your original sales-receipt, to prove that you are the rightful owner, and telephone Toshiba.

Ask for Technical Support -- they can help you "nullify" that BIOS-password.

Quiero formatear mi laptop una toshiba portege 3505 pero no me detecta los usb

First , try letting "Windows Update" install new driver. Be sure to plug in any USB devices you want to use BEFORE you start Windows Update. That way ,Windows Update will detect these USB devices as well as your USB hub. Because it may be that your external USB device is the problem.
