Hi is your television running through a foxtel box or something else that has volume control, If so you might have one or the other turned all the way down, turn both volumes up and control every thing through one remote control.....
If there is no sound comes with on-air programs, and there is only picture, check the settings. That is, if the transmission system at your country is PAL, and you have set the system at your TV to NTSC or SECAM, there will be no sound. Check it. Refer its user manual for details. ensure TV's 'mute' is not on. use buttons on TV to adjust volume up and down. if not working properly, you may have a volume adjustment on your cable modem which needs to be turned up to maximum. if sound works, all is well. if sound still not acceptable your TV needs repair.
if TV buttons adjust volume OK, and your remote for TV does not properly adjust volume, try fresh batteries. if
remote still not working properly, you can buy replacement on EBay or try a genaric remote from a dollar store. also, i may have an extra remote for you.
Most of the problems is the connections of the cables around the screen some are small electrical high voltage short need to be check, with no lights to see the short.
