Hi, I just purchased a new aqua flo pump. The previous pump only had 3 wires blue (Neutral), brown (active) and green/yellow (earth) now my new pump has these three plus a black wire labeled "low". Now to my knowledge I'm guessing the old pump was a single speed and the new pump is a 2 speed, now due to the plugs not being the same I've decided to hard wire the pump to the hot tubs control center, now I'm wondering what I need to do with the black wire ?? Can I just join it to the brown (active) wire ?? Or can I just disregard the black wire all together ?? Thanks in advance.

The black wire is most likely a Common ground wire, I suggest googling a schematic on the new pump before trying.

Just cap off the black wire, That connects to the low speed windings. Is this motor 115v or 220v?
From your supply power 115v will have a common, a hot, and a ground. Orientation to motor wires/ poles matters.
A 220v will have 2 hot and a ground. Since both line wires are hot, the orientation does not matter.
Make sure you get it right!

SOURCE: Removal of Aqua-Flo pump from motor

You will need to pull the front of the pump off then unscrew the impeller. The impeller will be set on the shaft and will take some force to break free. Hold ing the back of the shaft and using water pump pliers on the face of the impeller will usually work but sometimes I will wedge a screwdriver in the fin of the impeller and hit it sharply (not hard) with a hammer to break it free. Then the housing will just pull free of the motor. When replaceing, the impeller just goes on hand tight. Hope this helps and good luck.

SOURCE: I bought a new Aqua flo single speed pump but it came in as a 3400 RPM unit instead of a 1700. Can I wire the pump to a slower speed and if so how?

Probably not ... 1725 and 3400 <> are standard speeds for electric motors. See if your dealer will make an exchange for you for the proper speed pump.

My Bryant 561c airconditioner I need to know what wires to attach to my outside A/C is it blue on blue and yellow on brown

Brown is always active, blue is always neutral. But yellow or yellow/green is usually an earth. Sometimes on appliances yellow is used as a signal wire so if that is your only option then I would just run with that. If you trip your circuit breaker after turning it on then it was a earth and your back to square one

My terim cooker has 3 wires - black, blue and brown. Do you know which is live, negative and earth?

green or green and yellow is the ground (earth), blue is neutral, black and brown are both lives. this is the standard european wire color code since 2004. If it is older than that, black was used as a neutral, and blue as a live. very confusing.

The colour codes are as follows:
Brown = Line / Active

It is likely that the Brown and Orange would be connected together but not 100% sure.

Heath-zenith sl-6107 wiring diagram

hi there the wirings colour codes for nz are as follows

OLD WIRING CODE

Green = Earth
Black = Neutral
Red = Phase Or Live

NEW WIRING CODE

Green/Yellow = Earth
Blue = Neutral
Brown = Phase or Live

============DANGER 230VOLT ===============

Electricity can kill.
You should use an Electrical contractor for this repair job,
Caution always turn off power first before touching any wiring,

The Live wires always carry power,from one point to another,
the black neutral is your return path from the live phase wire
the green wire is always the ground ,

In this example

the sensor will have four wires as follows

Green = Earth Wire
Black = Neutral
Brown = Phase (incoming supply) 24 hrs
Red = Phase Load (outgoing supply) from sensor to lights triggered

Notice there are to phases in the circuit.Brown and Red
Always treat them as LIVE or Active Power.

Brown will normally be the Live incoming power and
Red will be the load side of the sensor,

Check the brochure supplied by manufactuers or their website to confirm the wiring order is correct before commencing any installs or repairs,

Always Safety first.
Safe a live today and you'll remembered forever.
